I assume 2hr round trip means 1hr each way. If so, a carto should be fine for 1 hr even if your chain vaping.
I use the 510 Boge mega cartos from Nhaler. They hold 35 to 40 drops and are 3.4 ohm. Depending on your preferences, they may be a little to cool for reg battys but they work great on 3.7v and 5v. They have a LR mega carto that is 2ohm that might be better for batts under 3.7v ( I think ego is 3.4v ? )

i am gonna give cartomizers one try just for the heck of it. i read about the E2 ceramic cartomizers. where is the BEST place to get them? which supplier?

Probably wordup. There is a 10% coupon around somewhere in their forum or the suppliers forum and the have the xl e2s also.
