Thanks for the link

I recoiled my rda and used a "juice catcher" style wrap on the wick. Still dual coil, and it holds more juice as well.

I tried this last night but only 1 coil was firing not both. Got frustrated and pulled it off. I will try this again tonight, it was late and had to get up early this morning. What is the trick to get both fire with this setup?

When you cut the kanthal, make sure you get 2 pieces EXACTLY the same length.Undo the wire one full turn off the spool, and cut it.Next fold it in half so both ends meet and cut, that simple.Once you get the wires fed thru the posts from both sides make sure none of the wires are actually touching the coils.Trick to doing this, when you feed one coil end thru the posts, fold the wires back to the side away from the center of the atty. Then feed the next coil thru and do the same thing so you can tighten the posts down.Just cut the extra wire away and make sure you do not cut the coil(i did with my first try) and have to recoil it again.

EDIT: Once the coil is in place and posts are tight lift the coil/coils off the base of the atty.Easy do not break or pull coils from the posts.

It's a bit tough to get right the first few times, particularly on this atty.
You could enlarge the holes on the posts slightly by using the tip of a knife and turning it while in the hole. This will make it a bit easier to thread the wires thru them. I did this to make it easier when using twisted wire. When trimming the excess wire off, be careful if you're using the "wiggle until it snaps" method. If the screw isn't down on the wire enough, the coil can slip out. The coil lead could still look like it's in the hole, but it might not be making contact. This could be another reason one coil isn't firing over another.

As t8kiteasy pointed out, make sure the coils don't touch the base either. Also, if your wraps are further apart, they'll tend to bunch up on the inside, towards the posts.

Here's my DC setup using twisted 32ga kanthal at 0.5Ω. :)

I like the twisted set up but i had a hard enough time getting the wires thru the posts with plain 32,i would eventually throw the atty at the wall if i could not thread it.Have you tried the set up i have with double the length of wick and then doubling it over into the loop??? It really soaks up alot of juice.

oh I was trying to make them wrap under the thumb screw, like the stock ones were. So that isnt neccesary to make them fire just the pressure from the screw pressing down. I did manage to do this last night but I was using higher gauge wire just trying to figure it out, I got one to work but it was at like 3 ohm so it sucked. I was also wrapping the wire around the threads on the thumb screw though.

Also starting to think I need a cheap mech to really make this one smoke

If you are trying to get below 1 ohm then yes you will definately need a mech. mod to fire it.

Yes, that's actually how my single coil RDA is set up. As for threading the wires, just take a sharp tip blade and gouge out the holes in the posts a little. Before doing that, I couldn't fit the twisted wires for the two coils, just one.

Is there a way to shorten the post that makes contact to the battery? I really like the way this looks on my K100 but there is about a 1mm gap in between the mod and the RDA. It would be nice if I could get it to go on there without a gap.

On the rda itself, you can push the center post upwards into the atty. I don't have a k100, but on my Telescope, I had to grind down the top of the 510 connection a bit to get it more flush.

How did you push the connection in? I want to make sure I do it right so I don't break it and have to wait a week for a new one to come in the mail.

I didn't, but it will slide up and down through the base. If you're not worried about scuffing the center post and are careful, you could use a pair of pliers to pull/wiggle the center post upwards a little at a time.

Just a note, if anyone else tries this be very careful not to pull up the positive contact past the shield that surrounds it. If you do you get a negative/ positive connection (I'm pretty sure this is what happens) and it will short and overheat your battery in record time. Not that this happened to me, I'm way too smart to do that...
