I got the Ody from UK today. It is my first piece from GG. :)

Very nice indeed. The only thing I would need fixed is the small nut inside the ceramic. It's thread is not square with end and when I assemble the rebuildable parts together then the center post (the + contact) is way off centre, almost touching the bottom rim inside the 510 thread. I do not know how much momentum I should use. I do not want to crush the ceramic with the nut.

thread is 3Χ0,5 karlos but I dont think its the nut. I think its the ceramic that not totally sits on the base of the ceramic housing.

But all center poles are a little off axis because the pin is screwed on the ceramic housing and the whole thing inside base. So we have 2 threads at the same time. If 1 thread is 0,1mm off and the other one is 0,1mm off too, the result is this. So if you turn a little the center post and screw again the small nut on it then it will come more straight.
Also please screw a little more this small nut that we are talking about to make plastic sit well on the bottom of the ceramic housing. But first check if the plastic is flat:)

Quick Nichrome question. Looks like I've got both Nichrome 8 (80% Nickel, 20% Chromium) and also Nichrome 6 (60% nickel, 16% chromium, 24% iron) Will they both work the same as far as coils go? Will we as vapers be able to notice a difference? Didn't even realize when I bought it that they were different. What kind of Nichrome is supplied with Ody/Penelope? Thanks

One more question, how is everyone polishing the Odysseus? I can't imagine using Flitz on the mouthpiece is a wise decision. I'd like to be able to keep my drip mode/short mode Ody looking nice, and am not sure the what the preferred method is. Thanks!
Very little polishing is required with stainless steel, just rub it down with a microfiber cloth once in a while and you should be good. For more tough grease/dirt, you can use warm water and dishwashing soap.

If you really want to polish it, I'd recommend going to a jewelry store and picking up some stainless steel wash. I really don't think that'd be necessary, though.

after you screw the ring that keeps rebuildable part in place, then grab the ceramic housing and screw it more. That way the rebuildable part stays in place and doesnt get unscrewed by turning the mouthpiece Soul.

Maybe I'm just being stubborn, but when it starts to leak, and I take it apart, the only part that is loose is that small nut under the housing. (the one you loosen and tighten after you wrap the wire around the post) Everything else is just as tight as when I put it together.

I'm using silver wire, and I don't know if it's just too thick and making the nut work loose.
I'm grasping at straws trying to figure out why that nut works loose during use and everything else stays tight.

I just now took it apart, made sure everything was tight, and put it back together.
I only put a little juice in it instead of filling it up and got leaking right away.
This was with the juice control snug but not tight, and then loosened a turn, after adding the juice.
Taking it apart (again) that nut was slightly loose and everything else tight.

I'm at a loss here....
Which is why I was asking for pictures of where the two wires go when the one isn't wrapped around the post.
I want to try it without wrapping the wire, but every try so far, it won't fire without that one wire wrapped around the post.

That nut comes loose when your unscrewing the ceramic housing when you take it apart.... the o-ring causes a tight seal which loosens the nut when you unscrew the housing... and only comes loose when you do this.... your leaking is most likely a wick issue and what I mean by that is the wick needs to fill the top channels like a dam blocking the flow of juice from going down into the center pin... try 2 pieces of wick or my short wick method and your leaking should stop....

I just got mine! Fantastic piece of kit! I can already tell I'll be in for a steep learning curve, even assembling it and adjusting the center pin looks a big challenging... don't want to break anything! Very happy with it so far, and I'm sure I'll be even happier once I get a coil working! Thanks COV and Imeo!

Question on cleaning. Should I just use hot water and dishwasher soap? Should I remove the o-rings? How about washing the whole ceramic assembly at once? Should I remove the ceramic and wash just the SS? I'd imagine to just dry it off best I can and then leave it to dry the rest of the way correct? Also, I should put vaseline on all of the threads correct?

That's enough question for now :) Thanks!

At least you're at home. I'm stuck at work while mine is at my house. And thanks for asking those questions, I'm curious as well.

I'm off to work right now though, so really had no time to play :( Did take it completely apart so I can clean it well tonight. I noticed some oil/grease in the tip of the center pin threading (the part that comes up through the ceramic housing, that the small nut in the housing screws onto) So def. need a bit of cleaning. Unless that was supposed to be in there.... hmm, now I'm second guessing myself haha.

Anyway, yes, those may be simple questions, but we were all new at this once :) I'm happy for you though, hope work goes fast so you can get home and admire this fine piece of machining genius ;) Thanks Imeo, you do beautiful work!

Well, that sucks! I work where I can tinker with my vaping stuff, I should've just had it delivered here! I'm a telephone tech and used to working with wiring, so hopefully the Ody doesn't get the best of me. I wonder if any of the electricians where I work would have any of the kanthal or nichrome - in what other aplications are they used for? And I have all the copper I can stand :)
