I deleted some posts, so no reason to feel bade Don:)

Thanks imeo. I kinda had a feeling afterwards that maybe I shouldn't have posted about another retailer releasing something on your thread. Keeping things relevant.... this is what I was talking about that's on its way!

Anyone have any advice as to what voltage I should be running my ody v2 at, with 1.5 ohm resistance, on my provari? I was running 4.2v but it was tasting a little burnt so now am running it at 3.8v. Does that sound about right or can I push it a little more? I'm also opening the juice flow control about one and a half full turns. Thanks.

If you get burn taste just open the liquid control more.

you can run Ody at even higher voltages Don. Liquid control allow us to vape 1,5 ohm even at 6 volts with out a burning taste
Thanks roxxette I tried that out and it works great now. I wasn't sure about running a 1.5 ohm coil at 4.2v but it seems to be working fine.

Thanks River. I can't say I have had a bad taste, but I too have had a metallic taste and a friend suggested torching the wire also. Will give that a try! I read the wick thing on the website, that was the first I ever heard such a thing.

Hi Jeff!
When I was using silica I did burn it under a blue flame. It stiffens the silica up and makes it easier to wrap wire around it. Also seems to solidify the fibers a bit. Less fraying.

IF you are running with a 1 piece wick setup you always gonna need the liquid control to be more open :) try a 2 piece of wick design setup (just 1 small piece on top of the longer wick in the ceramic cup) and it will allow you to hold more liquid and no need to open the control too much to take longer drags or vape and higher watts; personally i find i get better flavor with 2 wicks.

Thanks for the info guys. I am running two wicks my ody came set up like that. I just opened the juice flow control and have been vaping clouds. I am now trying 4.5v. I tried 5.0v and it gave me an E1 error on my provari lol. 4.9v fired for one second and gave me an E2 error. The highest I can go is 4.8 but I like 4.5. Thanks again.

Wow that's crazy how much the flavor changes.

i dont know if imeo aproves of this method but i have been using a small piece of oxidised ss mesh wrapped around the silica (just where the coil goes) with great success! the flavor of a stainless wick, with the wicking and vapor production of silica.

absolutely none of the shorting / burning problems of the other genesis devices.

i have said it before, the oddy is the BOMB!!!!

truly a do everything atomiser. I cant wait to see how the master is going to improve what is already the best!

I have been curious about this specifically.

Do you think you'll have to change out the silica? If so, how often?

I wonder if you'll be able to get it out and a new one through there.

Its a great trick and I have made a video about it legion. My results were not great like yours. Maybe I am waiting too much from mesh. But if you like it then well done buddy:)

Hey Ob!

the silica will have to be changed eventually but i believe it will be less than without the ss mesh. In my experience the silica gunk's up and losses efficiency in about one week. i have been swapping the wick and reusing the same ready wire coil till it breaks (about 3-4 weeks). i will post on how long this setup works before it needs to be replaced.
in fairness the original 3mm wick with ready wire was already my favorite setup , over everything else and i may go back to that! this is just a test for wick life more than anything else. im hoping to rebuild less:) time will tell.

Imeo,

i am so embarrassed , i did get the idea from your video. i have watched so many videos i cant remember who made them.:) i just got around to trying it because i thought HOW COULD YOUR ORIGINAL SETUP BE IMPROVED! certainly nothing that i could do:)
this is a ss/silica wick life test. I visit other threads and many people are in love with ss mesh ( i like some of the other devices that use ss mesh myself) but it got me thinking that your devices do everything they do and more, adjustable ...uhhh... everything!:) using an all ss mesh wick is the only thing that was (i hesitate to use this word) missing. i like ss mesh genesis style atomizers ,i just like yours devices more and wanted to see if it could be used the same way as the other devices. in my opinion it can. the oddy/penny/ggts devices are the most flexible, versatile and user friendly devices on the market.
bar NONE.
that is why i will vote gg every time, with every device you make.
i will vote with the only true power i have ... my money!!!

Thank you legion for this post.:)
I dont really think that Ody can be compared with anything else in the market, thats obvious. V1 style can work with mesh with great results. V2 can work but its a little more difficult because if mesh is not proper oxidised it will touch the metal slot of the rebuildable part. But the design of Ody allows any wick inside it (Mr krinkle found that Ody works with no wick inside slots of the rebuildable part)
