Thats what is happening soda. But no leakage? Very strange. The liquid had enough room via slots to go very quickly on the wick and overflood it in seconds. But it doesnt!
maybe the pressure in the tank pushes the liquid up the channels

So, Mr. Kringle. How well does the top wick work in long mode Ody? Any flooding?

I did not have any problem with leaking in full mode but I also only used it in full mode for about a day but had no issues... Full mode was just too big for my tastes and I am very bored with the flavor in 5ml or less... I do however use this coil method in Medium Mode without any issue... I do vasoline the inner base threads and ody ceramic housing very well each time I rebuild my coil and have had no problems at all... please keep in mind I have never had any leaking issue at any time in any mode with any coil method though... maybe Im just lucky maybe I have a magic Ody or Vasoline just rules... who knows but I personally have never had any issue with my method... flavor is wonderful not having to travel through a long piece of wick but more direct source flavor and it makes a little wick go a long way... I use kiln treated Nextel and being able to use only a 1/2" at a time is great especially since I vape dark juices and coils generally only last 2 days for me before needing to be changed out....

Little off topic, but I wanted to give my take on the Odysseus.

I have been using the Odysseus since February of this year. I have it used it in short, Full, and in dripping mode. I can not say how much I enjoy this product. The quality and build is amazing. I work in the Aviation industry and have experience with aircraft grade metals, and QC some of the items we produce in our machine shop(full machine shop where we produce aircraft parts). I would dare say that Imeo's products compare with the strict rules we have to follow in aviation. The tolerances, fit, and finish are some of the best I have seen(even in aviation).
I have read some people had issues with the Odysseus leaking. I personally had no issues with leaking with this product. I did exactly what Imeo said to do in his videos and everything worked as advertised. As for taste and vapor, this is the best, period! I've had my experiences with almost all cartos, and atomizers. I do not know if I can ever go back to them after using the Odysseus. Wick and coil is simple enough to make, and I usually just make one once a week for the hell of it. Longest I went so far was 2 weeks but only changed it out to show a friend how I made the wick and coil for the Odysseus. I'm pretty sure that wick and coil would have lasted another 2 weeks. In the end, I just wanted to thank Imeo and all others here in this GG forum. I have learned alot from all of you and I'm sure I will keep learning from you! So a BIG THANKS!

Realized I should have posted this in the reviews. Sorry.:D

Your wick method had inspired a theory about flooding and leaking in odysseus.

What if flooding has nothing to do with what's in the side channels? For that matter, why would it make a difference? The cup that the rebuildable assembly screws into is effectively sealed by the o-ring on the center post, so the only route for liquid to get out of the assembly is via the center post bore. The problem must have to do with over-wicking at th e top of the channels.

Logic then dictates the solution of three or even four layers of wick at the top only.

I'm currently testing a coil built on 3 layers of wick at the top and a single layer down the sides. So far so good...

lol that's funny...
I got my Drip Ody today!
In general, do I follow any particular wick set up that is different from the iatty, or just like it?
thanks

I just got my Ody Drip Mode as well. Wick is built just like iAtty1. Easy peasy vapes like a dream.

I have tested the Ody in every possible way, and I am sure flooding has nothing to do with the wick channels. It is then useless to use Imeo's method with the ground wire to prevent flooding. Flooding comes from not using enough wick. I have tested this numerous times. I have extended the channels with a dremel, so I can barely fit three 2mm ody wicks. This is the perfect setup for me, no leakage at all. If I use two ody wicks and one bulli 1mm wick, it leaks like a MF. With just two ody wicks the juice just flows through.

Funny you should say that Huff. Arrived about 4 hours ago in Sydney, Australia on a trip. I would never take with me my beloved GGTS's in fear that they may get scratched or even (God forbid) jet lagged but I do take my Provari and an Ody in drip mode which I have as a backup to my other 2 full Ody's. It's small, convenient and the taste is simply amazing. Now just waiting for the new GGPP to put in my flight case :)

Hey Krinkle - I missed your post about using just a top wick. Where is it? And, how do you keep the positive wire from shorting without the wick over it?

Here is my coil method and wick post... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gg/261773-ody-using-nextel-xc-116-without-moding-ceramic.html and as long as the positive wire is tucked in the channel there is no issue I usually use a pin or small finishing nail to press the wire as deep into the channel as possible...
