Vir is an electronic part that will fit on GGTS. But I will make another kind of GG that will fit VIR and this new kind of GG will be sold with the VIR on it as one unit

Cotton works well, I've been using it since that discussion came up. No problems with it burning up if its kept wet and you don't try dry burning off any buildup. Just replace it when its gunked up.
I recommend it, I hope this helps.

Which are typical tolerances in GG threads? I just got stealth cap for my SSGGTS #2080, but threads are way too tight for my GGTS upper tube. I can screw it only about 1 - 2 turn, but I don't want to force it deeper, or it probably wont even go any further.

put vaseline and screw-unscrew it several times putting force. When it will fit then it will always fit nicely Jal
Im guessing it does away the bottom part of the AD with the 510 connection. connected directly to a telescope and screwed all the way down. So the ody positive connection directly touches the battery.
Hmm seems to be a good idea, but will the AD work like that? the bottom cap and button doesnt seem to be airtight.

Have setup my Ody twice now using the pre made wires.
First attempt worked fine, but had the most awful taste, and remembered many suggesting to cook the ceramic with a blue flame first. Which I did not do. And I didn't clean the tank at all.
So I took it apart, cleaned everything with hot water. Burned/cooked the ceramic. Put it together and it's better, but there is still an off taste. I am pre wetting the wick. I am making sure the juice control is open.
My Pene was way better, and I did not clean anything with first use.

I experienced the same thing Jeff. Although I did wash both the Ody and Pen before use. I am now putting my wire under a flame until it turns red hot before I wrap my coil and no longer get an off taste on a new coil. And even when I had the taste on the Ody, it went away after about a ml of liquid
Ok will try burning the wire. Is it possible to wrap the coils to tight which would restrict wicking? I don't think I am, but a thought?

i experienced same issue on ody2 as well. penelope was ok perfect..
mine was not the pre-made wire.. i tried on new wire and flame it to red hot for 3 times and there is still odd smell. I took out the v2 ceramic and burn/torch it.. now the odd taste is gone..
my guess its the ceramic causing the odd taste.....

Yeah you can def wrap too tight, but you can also wrap it too loose. All of the coil needs to be touching your wick. Personally, I think it's best to error on the loose side and then tighten as needed by turning the ends of the coil counter to each other...if that makes sense. Some people are using a straightened paper clip when they wrap their coil. You can wrap it fairly tight then remove the paper clip ( a thin one) and you should get a nice wrap without it being too tight.
I'm not sure what type of wire the premades are.
I've been using nichrome80 res wire with 2 or 3 wicks. After trying both, I think 2 wicks performs the best overall. With more than one wick though, you won't need to open your liquid control much at all (depends on your pg/vg ratio of course).

Since this appears to be occurring on the Ody only, it must be the ceramic. I thought the issue had been resolved from v1 but I guess not. I do know that the igetcha video with the v1 review claimed that the only way to remove the taste was to put the ceramic over a blue flame for about 10 sec...he said that many people reported that nothing else worked.
