I just received my first GGTS yesterday and wanted to echo this statement. Up until now I was liking the Penelope better than the Ody. But with air control, the Ody now blows away the Penelope in flavor and throat hit! I really don't see how flavor could ever be improved more than this. I am getting more vapor with the Penelope at the moment but for me flavor and throat hit are more important. Without variable voltage though, I am having to wrap 1.3 ohm coils in the Ody for the vape quality.
I do have a question that I hope can be answered here. I prefer the look of the TS when it is not showing the telescopic tube, in other words, when the top tube or the collector/air control tank sits flush with the bottom tube. Can someone tell me what batteries I need to use to accomplish this? I currently have 18350s and 18490s but neither one will allow me to create the desired configuration. Will the retheader ring accomplish this with the 18350s. Keep in mind, I do not want to use this without the collector/air control tank. Thanks

18500/18490s work in my SSGGTS but I have noticed that the neg battery post is different in length depending on the version release ect.

Medium Mode Ody? Do I use short mode mouth piece and leave out the original tank? I've got it in long mode now and love the window but its a bit too long for work. Not sure if the short mouth piece is long enough. I'm gonna have to order some of those tanks. Anybody got pics of med mode, 23mm and 27mm tanks so I can compare?

Yes, the original mouth piece is long and it works fine with the 27mm clear window tank. you just replace the metal tube with the plastic clear window tube. Kir Fanis sells two at a time , I got the 23mm and the 27mm. Very nice well made clear window tubes...

You just send him a PM and tell him what you want and your set. Well I see they are here now !

I was getting this issue, and more. I tried every trick on ECF to solve it. Some helped, but nothing really handled it. Then I figured out the wick I was using was 2mm and not 3mm. Once I got the propper wick in place ALL of my many flooding problems vanished. GONE! It's been two days now and the Ody is finally reliable! Not a single flood since getting the correct wick in it.

Measure that wick with a micrometer and be sure it's 3mm.

Also, as many here will attest to, use at least a double wick setup. It really does improve everything about the Ody/Penelope

I'm glad the issue was solved for you... I have used all different size wicks even just a piece of Nextel spanning across the top of the cup only and have never experienced any leaking at all. I'm inclined to say the bottom oring was not compressed enough or the neg ring had a gap between the base and the ring.

This is Ody V2 with 2/3 of the expansion on it. Just the bottom and the window. Mouth piece is the standard V2 it comes with. It's the same length with the KF 27mm window alone. Cheap way to get a little more capacity and see the liquid control in action.

Here it is with the 27mm KF window. Just a stock V2 with the clear tank body installed. Please excuse the picture quality. I'm in a hotel room using my phone.

IMO the 23mm window is a waste of time. The V2 mouth piece is long enough to handle the 27mm tank and still have room for your mouth/lips.

Before pouring the juice I always check the coil.
Using nichrome, and it is not as flexible as the Kanthal. After making coil - nichrome slightly unwound. Ready to lead me to close the battery - one end to another in the -. After that, nichrome becomes pliable. After doing this coil.
By setting the coil do a dry heating coil - reveal the location of the weak contact with the coil fuse. Achieve uniform heating of the coil.
These twists do with tweezers. This is increasing the area of heating and evaporation of the juice. The most important thing on this reel is no taste of superheated metal.
Nice picture, how'd you make the coils crooked like that?
Your posts are some of my favorites, when I read them I hear Yoda's voice saying the words, LOL.

I explored the o-ring compression (lack of it) as a cause, but it proved not to be the issue. Using the Ody in full expansion mode always made the flooding worse. When I broke it down to a smaller tank it would flood less. My guess is the pressure from the extra fluid x thinner wick caused the channels to flood easier. With the 3mm wick I can't get it to flood with any configuration. Same o-ring compression, same extra parts.

Thanks for the pics Dave. I gotta get me a few of those tanks. Is the V2 mouth piece same length as V1? I thought I read it might be a bit longer. When my Full mode tanks is dry I'll try the 2/3 and see how it fits.

The V2 mouth piece is longer than the V1. This works out really well! Try just the window and bottom tube of your expansion set with the stock mouth piece. This is pretty much the exact length of the KF window. If you like that you're sure to like the 27mm KF windows.

Update on my leaking issues: But first off, really loving the Ody!

I've come to the conclusion that I'm not actually having any leaking into the battery connector on my PV's, it's moisture/condensation, not juice. Good to know, as I was really starting to worry about juice leakage.

I just give my battery connection a swab with q-tips every once and awhile, and all is well :)
