At VaperCon a guy asked "what's your build, brah?" and I said it's a nautilus coil at 1.6Ω... he looked at me kinda funny and said, "Don't you mean .16? Is a nautilus coil like a Clapton?"

I said it's more like a Hendrix... He nodded and walked away.

I prefer a Joplin or a Slick if I'm vaping White Rabbit..

Not a hobbyist or handy enough to get into rebuildables, I'm afraid, I just want an alternative to cigs.

OH, and this was in another thread... a guy that works in a vape shop said... "95% of the people that vape use rebuildable tanks or RDAs"

Remind me not to have that guy do my bookkeeping.

Love it, Zen. Great reply! Might have to 'steal' that one.

Oh, me too... Or if I'm chillin' with some tequila, a Santana coil is just the thing to really make a nice mellow vape.

I like old skool. I'm going with the bridgeless Alicia Bridges 306.

I carry a Provari with a Boge in a carto-tank as my travel backup, and for discrete low-vapor vapes. Particularly has been useful for a few stealth hits inside an airport, after I've removed the juice from my Reo before an upcoming flight. I pop the tank off, and it goes inside a IBT "thingy" which is air-tight, for the flight.

Are cartos still a "thing"? Do they still make them or is Boge sitting on a backstock of them?

Well, I did break down earlier and order one. I do hope that tank vendors out there will actually support the P3 threading. Maybe if the Radius is more popular than the P3, although I imagine the hobbyist/cloud chasing crowd will just sneer at "just" 40 watts, and that plus the price tag will make this a niche product as well.

For the record, my ADV is a Kanger subbox mini/subtank at 20 watts (wish I had a tank that wouldn't leak through the airholes, though :( ). I'm springing on this mod because the wattage is probably just fine for me, although it seems like the newer sub ohm tanks need over 50 watts. Also, if I am going to be holding this thing next to my face, I want it to be safe. Finally, I did have a Provari 2.0 what seems like ages ago, and I loved the build quality and that button!

I'll just try to compensate on the price of the mod by trying to find sales on tanks/coils. Not a hobbyist or handy enough to get into rebuildables, I'm afraid, I just want an alternative to cigs.
A Kabuki might be your friend.

I'm actually considering a Kabuki, but it seems awfully pricey. If I could maybe find a good review of it, I might take the plunge...all I have really seen is a blog post calling it an expensive nautilus and criticizing the use of an allen wrench to adjust airflow, which seems kind of petty to me, since once I find a setting I like, I tend to leave it there, not to mention that it is annoying trying to twist off the tank bottom to refill and invariably messing up the airflow settings anyway.

I don't really ask that much from a tank, just:
1.good flavor (I like vapor but I don't need clouds)
2.easy to refill
3.won't leak (as I mentioned, after 3-5 days my subtank seems to leak through the airflow holes)

If I could be fairly sure that it did those things, then I'd part with another bill for a Kabuki and some coils.

I still use the Sophia and I still love them. I see no reason to change when it suits my needs just fine. I did buy a few sub-ohm atomizers and they are now sitting in my drawer of vape stuff.

Diver or Sophia?

So like, if you folks could refrain from posting links to my shop in the Radius thread for stuff other than the radius, that would be kinda cool. I appreciate it and everything, but sending them as private messages would be much more appropriate.

It's OK to talk about the stuff I make in relation to the Radius especially, but this isn't really up to code to send people away from ProVapes thread, even for something that was mentioned here.
"
A commendable position sir!
But I clicked on that link; ordered the ZAP to ZAU adapter I have wanted for oh so long; and immediately returned to this thread.
And it is directly related to the Radius, as that is what I will be mounting it on upon arrival of both.
A commendation to both fine devices.

I picked up my first Kabuki last Friday.

I say first because like you I had the same wants from a tank.

I purchased and would recommend the P3 version.

Worth the money? Yes, Will I buy another? Yes!

Cheers, Jim

In the spirit of full disclosure, I do not yet own a Kabuki.
But I do own and have never been less than impressed w/a product from @zen-.
The comparison you made is like comparing a Yugo to a Mercedes. No aspersion intended.
There are numerous accolades in this thread as well as many others that attest to the quality.
In any event, best of luck in your journey!
BTW: I'm form Spicewood, TX, 20 minutes from Austin street lights, so we are somewhat related, at least in spirit. ;-}

Diver or Sophia?

I don't rebuild anything anymore...
There was a time when the lightbulb could be rebuilt when the coil needed to be replaced, now we throw them away.
Progress...

Those air control rings that China seems to be in love with drive me crazy... They are always in the wrong position... the Kabuki is all about being able to set it and forget it, so the critics like rings, I have no clue why. I like consistency, thus the tool to adjust it.

There are lots of reviews of the Kabuki on the ordering pages of most dealers that sell it... these are written by people that actually own and use them, and spent their hard earned money. I figure if THEY are happy with the purchase, that says a lot more than the opinions of a professional blogger or reviewer, Though I appreciate what they have to say as well.
