Loving the Radius so far! But does anyone else notice a suuuper high pitched whine/buzz while taking a puff? Everything else is working just fine.

1.4 ohm @ 10.8 watts and boost set to 2.

Just wondering if I should be concerned??
Maybe it was not related, but mine had a high pitched noise when firing from the first fire. Curious if others have this as well.

Good idea. I'll try that out when I get home, but I don't think it'll matter considering it makes the sound while firing with out any atomizer connected..

Hope I didn't get a dud as well. I'll keep an eye on this. No issues with my menu though. Just a high pitched whine
Green, let ProVape know regardless. I think they would want to know. Open a ticket with ProVape on their website. If there are issues with quality it is best addressed as quickly as possible and this is why ProVape would be interested in knowing about your issue.

Decide to play around with my settings to see if I could make the whine go away.

First thing I tried was turning off the boost feature. NO MORE HIGH PITCH SOUND! Turn the boost back to 2. Sound comes back.

Tried all 5 levels of boost. All of which produced the high pitch sound..

Any thoughts @Vape360

Well the good news is even if you do have an issue, Provape will move with lightning speed to take care of you. Yes they will!

Speaking of software updates:

@Vape360, other than camping out on this thread, which if I keep this up, I'm going to have ask you to supplement my income as I'm not getting any work done, how will Provape notify the zillions of Radius owners when a software update is available?

Suggestion: Maybe have people who buy a Radius register with you for important information about their device.

The Mothership already has our email via the purchase. So a simple marketing (new Radius Blurb) and software update/release via the USB port would be a double. :) Easy peasy and global in nature. New sales and bug fixes for everyone.

Not mine and you should be concerned. If it still persists after switching toppers and checking the usual suspects, I would contact the Mothership and be prepared to send the unit back. You might even want to call the Mothership so they can hear it or record a vid.

Edited for clarity

Even though you're obviously trolling by now, there is something you should be aware of...

I too have an SXmini, so I can tell you first-hand that it's not even outputting the original 60W, let alone 75W, on a single battery. I got one of those ugly extension tubes, so I can tell you that 60W with two batteries is a LOT stronger than 60W with a single battery, even with a full charge. 75W would be very unsafe, if the SX could actually output that much power from a single battery, which it can't. You too can do the same experiment if you get one of those ugly extension tubes.

At least when ProVape puts out a product, they don't lie to their customers. If they say it will output 40W, it will.
This is the reason evolv put out the DNA40. It's pretty much the most wattage you can reliably get off of 1 18650. Sure you can get higher but it involves pulse and isn't true. The extra wattage does eat your battery though, and fast because it's so inefficient.

This is like you walking into a ProVape owned store and talking about other PVs, and when asked if you are interested in a ProVape device you said 'nope' - which begs the question, why are you here then?

I ran an equipment manufacturer and we released new products. I watched early warranty returns like a hawk. No matter how much you lab test a product, beta test, and field test a product it is not fool-proof. Once the product gets widespread use you are almost assured of finding additional issues. And it is a whole lot more expensive to fix product in the field than it is to solve the problem in-house. This is why it is important that ProVape knows about quality issues. You would be doing ProVape a favor by opening a ticket so they can assess it sooner rather than later. Trust me. :)

Contact provape asap. There are a lot of electronic components that can whine if they are not working right. My htr receiver started whining right before the power supply failed and it turned out to be a bad diode in the regulator circuit. PV's have similar circuitry though more complex. Since this symptom was reported in another failure report I'm sure the engineers would love to have one with the symptom that hasn't failed yet.

And before the trolls jump on provapes qc, this symptom doesn't show right away but can with a short amount of use. Component makers don't test but a few out of thousands in a batch.

Hello,

We have a page setup where you can check for any updates: www.provape.com/update :)

We will also post something here, and email.

On a fully charged battery, the SXmini will out put a true 60W on a single battery down to .2 ohms. But that battery sag is horrible. Do I use it at 60W at all, heck no!!! Would I try to do it at 75W? not even for a second. Also, the Radius will only fire a true 40W if it is built at .45 ohms and above because of the 9.5amps limitation.
