What I meant to say is that some wire tips are dipped in a solder pot, therefore the conductor is covered in lead. Whatever is on the surface is part of the contact (in this case anyways since the goal was just taping a -I extrapolated- potted wire to a terminal, which means it is in series with the conductor itself.) Resistance adds up in such case since there is not direct bonding... We are by now completely out of topic and absolutely out of most people's knowledge of electrical conductivity and I was just having fun responding to a funny post and not posting an official scientific review of any sort.
I smell smoke, I just run away. Some folks like to start fires, others like to play in the fire ... then you have the fire fighters and folks who stack more wood on the blaze.
It takes all kinds, even the folks who just like to watch it all burn.

Morality is nothing more than a barrier. I do what benefits me, and I gladly support the makers of clones for providing something nice at such a low price. If I were to create something, which I don't see myself doing, I'd be happy to sell it at a fair price. I see where people like me are coming from, and I'd be glad to help them out too.
It doesn't take much of a brain from today's standard knowledge to improve upon a tube of metal with a switch. If a creator honestly believes a tiny improvement is worth doubling the price, they should deflate their ego.
Feel free to call me Lucifer for not supporting swindling.![]()
Ok I officially consider my ... handed to me![]()
If I make my own is it a copy, a knockoff, a clone, or an original?

tj99959, unless you've got a million bucks worth of CNC machines and a free month to do the milling, don't even bother. If you look at what you made under a microscope, you'll see its just junk. You do look at all your stuff under a microscope, right? You should....it makes things work better.
$30k would get it done 16" x 40" CNC Lathe With 6 Positions Toolpost & 2 3/8" Bore - CNC Lathes & CNC Milling Machines, CNC Machine Center at Bolton Hardware
Use your spare cash to buy stock, a class or two in cnc theory, lots of rum to ease the pain of mistakes, etc.

a doppleganger! an imitator! a long-lost evil twin! (check for mustache/goatee)
or maybe you went back in time and recreated the events to end up in the present with 2 of the same item! a paradox!
Well guess what, I made my own a looooooooooooong time ago!
Cost $2.20 to make and it still works just fine.

This alone makes me shudder. But, then, I remember all the clothes that were made by the same slaves, but with different labels inside. Those $1500.00 original slacks are the same as the $15.00 slacks, they just go to different stores. As fast as today's mods and attys are being copied, I sometimes wonder what some of those modders are really doing. Zero equipment, zero overhead, zero scruples.China Clones are made by the hands of forced child labor for pennies a day. So buying clones is supporting this.
