OK these mods are getting out of hand. Wow. Pleasant experience with cig-alikes from a habitual mod buyer/user.

Just as the title states, I've been using the Volt from smokelessimage with a 2.0ohm smoktech super shorty cartomizer for two days strait now. These volt batteries rock. You definitely do not absolutely need to strictly use mods with these things.

I switch one onto the charger 3 times a day I believe. Thats not bad.
Though I'd feel more secure with a PCC for outside the house.
But who needs a PCC when you have a mod or two?
I'll definitely be using these Volt batteries WAY more often. WAY more often.
Mods are great for battery life. I like that I can rebuild the tanks, the tanks hold so much juice, sure.
But the simplicity of the Volt batteries really make it hard to put them down, even with XX mods on my desk.

We seem to have reached a point where we all think cig-alikes are terrible. Its not true. Its just not true.
NO, I would not want to ONLY own these volt batteries. I'd feel vulnerable if that were the case.
I'd always like to have at least a few mods and I'd recommend owning a few mods to any new vaper.
But do we really need to tell new vapers looking for cig-alikes to skip them all together?
These Volt batteries pack a PUNCH. I believe they are regulated at 3.6-3.7 volts, right?
LR carto on here and they are blowing me away.

Instead of recommending new vapers stay away from cig-alikes all together..
I'd rather recommend they get a Volt kit, or a Bloog Kit. The regulated 808 bats..
but also have at least 1 high mah eGo battery with some tanks for it for home as well.

This one just died now. I had been using it for around 5 hours.

With all the mods I own its like... I look at the Volt batteries like I used to look at my 510s.
But when I take a hit off this thing, and, I've only been using them for 2 days mind you...
When I take a hit off these volt batteries with this (working great) super shorty carto? Blown away.
Pisses you off when they die, sure. But if your not dependent on them, that doesn't matter.
Just having them to use when you feel like it is truly invigorating. They treat you WELL. Good little bats.

I hear you. I have been using an eRoll for a couple months and it works and is very portable with a great PCC. You can literally vape this cigalike all day with the pcc. The downfall is the carts are small and you have to change them out frequently. Now way I can use my Aga-T outside the house when I can get such a good vape in such a portable design.

I'm down with cigalikes, even though I've got tons of APVs and eGos. I use my recharged Njoy Kings frequently when I go out at night with friends, and that sort of thing. I also have a bunch of 4081 Logic cigalikes that actually perform quite well for what they are. I've got some older M401s, 510, and 808 cigalikes that don't get much use. The 401 is horribly weak, the 510 is a manual and I prefer auto cigalikes, and the 808 batts are all V4L and have very goofy colors/designs so I don't use them anymore.

I've also got some blue cartos, and I think they are terrible. They are a few mms thinner than regular 510 stuff, their "tobacco" flavor is pretty bad, and gives off a burnt flavor frequently. The entire box had that burnt nasty taste. The draw is also extremely stiff, it feels like my teeth are going to pop out of my jaw I have to inhale so hard. Someone told me there are other Blu cartos available that are regular size, that evidently perform a lot better, but damn these things are just awful.

I have spent thousands of dollars on all these mods, vivi novas, clearos, cartos, everything.
I never gave these volt batteries a chance. they are truly rocking my world right now lol.
I mean it might just be that this 1 cartomizer is working fantastically. haha.
I don't think its a super low resisted carto, as I said above, its around 2 ohms.

I take a hit off my provari with a brand new metal vivi nova and its just not as good as the volt right now.
I can customize everything with the provari and the different resisted coils I use on it in ALL the heads I use.
But this volt battery with a simple short cartomizer is nuts. NUTS.

It almost makes me angry. I almost want to bring everything to a swap and trade it all for more cig-alike supplies.
I have to admit, the Volt batteries with the "nano" clearomizer? Horrible.
So it kind of is just that this cartomizer is performing extraordinarily well. But I bet thats just a difference in carto vs. nano clearomizer, not representative of what I will get if I buy more cartomizers for my volt batteries.

I was going to save up for a new mechanical mod with a new rebuildable atomizer.
I had my eye on one, and I had the perfect RBA tank for it. But now? I almost want another volt kit.

ERoll is still my favorite since December. I have let's of extra everything though so it makes it fabulously efficient....expensive, even at co op prices I'm thinking, but know yet and won't for awhile because the only thing I've tossed is a ruined atty, by me and tank, and a battery one of my dogs chewed and got a refund on a PCC that failed in two weeks. Now if I don't keep misplacing the little buggers this supply could proove cost efficient. Jury is still out. There is always room for improvement but not much as far as I an see. I use them most. But if I didn't have my mechanicals, my Reo bottom feeder, my RBA and my tanks/ cartos and soon Pro Tank I'd not enjoy them as much. They can entail a bit too much long slow drawn out hits at times. Just love having a few fully charged thrown in pocket to do annual hands busy things! I wonder what will follow. I'll be tying!

Good to hear it. And do you have mods that you enjoy when you can?

Who else uses cig-alikes along side their mods? Everyone? Majority? Minority?

I use my 808s from time to time, too. :) I especially like them when I'm cooking or to put in a pocket to stealth at work. Last month, I picked up four Bloogs when they had a 4-for-$20 deal. Slap a nano clearomizer or carto on them and they're very "hands free friendly."

I feel that all the different vaporizers I use (minis, eGos, mods) have their place and one isn't intrinsically better than another; they all serve different purposes.

I actually want to buy 2-3 Volts for out & about, but don't like the idea of 808 or adapters, and everything I own is 510.

Plus I've spoiled myself rotten with my AGAs and have a hard time switching back to cartos (I constantly taste filler) and clearos (inconsistent, annoying to work on, dislike silica).

I do enjoy the hell out of my SDK though.

If I hadn't started with the 808s and didn't have a lifetime supply of prefilled cartos before I found this place, I'd feel exactly the same way, Thompson. My V2s started to die and I didn't feel I could waste 80 perfectly good cartridges and the $20 deal at Bloog was just too good to pass up.

You're right, of course, about the AGA. I finally tackled coil building on Thursday and apart from Friday at work, I haven't put it down. :)

Well said Buddy. It really doesn't matter at the end of the day. As long as it keeps you off the analogs. Well it's a winner for me.
(And I own a lot of mods, but still carry a tiny 400mah eGo for that just in case).

Yeah I'll probably end up still buying a few Volts & cartos, or similar. Especially for those instances I really don't want to explain why I've got the Provari (dealing with the "why not just the small gas station ones?" gets old haha).

I love these AGAs, especially with the glass tank (I sent two of mine into Phiniac for custom HST themed sand blasting haha) and they have me tempted to go for one of the more expensive Genesis, but then I realize how well they work & their very decent pricing and become hesitant.

I have put one on the SDK for the hell of it (even though it won't work, auto battery) and its goofy looking, I could only imagine putting one on a manual Volt with an adapter :p

Tempted to get a SD Maxi for the slightly increased mah, but same form factor as the SDK. SDK + SS A7 is a remarkable little setup, rather nice looking IMO.

I believe it is 2 ohms AttyPops, although I have lost the baggy it came in and since it is 808, I cannot check the resistance on my provari. I believe it is either a 1.8 or 2.0ohm smoktech super shorty that I got from madvapes when I ordered the Volt.

pretty sure the -super shorty cartos are 1.5 ohms. At least all mine have been.
