OK, why all the ProVari hate?

There are plenty of other mods out there that cost more than a ProVari and that you have to get on a list to even hope to get one. I can readily buy a ProVari with batteries, charger and extension cap for less than some of the hybrid or box mods on the market.

At this point a ProVari is not even a status symbol. How many people own a Darwin or Caravela? And don't get me started on the high end RBAs out there.

When did owning a ProVari become so bad and become equated with drinking the Kool-Aid? What about all the iHy, Zen, Caravela, etc. owners? They seem to get rave reviews of their mods.

People got tired of the owners chiming in all the time with the ProVari as the answer to all their problems. Every time someone had a mod problem, there would be some jerk saying "the problem with your mod is that it isn't a Provari," or something to that effect.

Provari's are amazing mods. If I could justify the expense, I'd get one. Then again, I did justify $6 a day on analogs, so there's not really a reason I can't afford one.

You know what? I might never get one. I like experimenting with different mods and toys, and it'd be sad if I got the last mod I'd ever want. What would I get then? a tank in every color of the rainbow? (YES.)

There are fan boys for everything. Why has the ProVari been singled out? I guess because it is the most expensive mod that most people can obtain readily?

I don't see many posts recommending a Caravela or iHy so I see the point. I guess I just got in at the "red headed step-child" level. A ProVari is expensive enough that not everyone is going to spring for it but not expensive or elite enough that only the high end owners will have one. So I get put into a "group" of PV owners that is too cool for the noobs but not cool enough for the elite. Seems fair.

If you can easily obtain an expensive unit then you are a tool for owning and recommending it but as long as you have to get on a list to get it then it is all good. Does that pretty much sum it up?

Like jarski44 said, there was a time, especially in the new members forum, that no matter the question;
" why wont my carto stay wet?" fanboy would answer "get a Provari"
how long should my batteries last? ....... get a provari
why cant I find a juice I like?....... get a provari
Im interested in a cheap device ........ get a provari
I want a mech mod.......... get a provari
Im getting headaces......... get a provari
I hate variable voltage......... get a provari
what atomizer should I get?........ get a provari
Im looking for a nice start up kit for about 50$...... get a provari

and it goes on and on. Seemed as though the answer to all problems anyone ever had was to get a Provari. It got to the point I got "anti Provari" syndrome. I didnt want anything to do with VV. I would ask why if I like a cool vape at 4.2 to 3.7 would a Provari do me good. There was always the obligatory answer, You can dial up the sweet spot, the sweet spot , the sweet spot etc. No real technical answer. If I told them my sweet spot was 3.7 - 4.2 why should I spend 200.00? If you really like to fiddle with the voltage with every juice, guess thats fine, but not me. I like certain NET tobaccos and they didnt taste good ( to me) at any higher voltage.

So thats part of the "hate" another one, was even though I could have afforded it, I was not "in love" with the looks. I dont care for LED windows etc. nor the design, especially the Logo on the side. If you like it, and it does what you want in a VV that is built well, will last forever than its for you. It became a sort of status symbol

Now I get hounded by GG people to get a GGTS, get one, it will change your vaping world. etc etc. It also doesnt ring my bells. Its nice looking, great quality, last you a lifetime, but again, the logo, etc. I guess I like unique understated, MODs

I own a Provari. I love my Provari. But even I get sick of the members who offer the Provari as the be-all end-all solution to every problem/situation. Provari's are great, but they aren't for everyone and even though I own one, I also use my twists, my reos, and my eRolls. If there is Provari hate and I don't think there is hate for the PV just the attitude of some of the Provari owners, it's because instead of being held up as a great PV that works well for some members, it's sometimes held up as "the only PV worth having" by some members. And there is no perfect PV for everyone. For some people, a disposable fits their lifestyle better than a Provari. For others, they are happier with their twists than they would be with a Provari. If it does what you want it to do and keeps you from smoking, that's all that matters. If you love your Provari, who cares what anyone else thinks? I'm glad it works for you. :)

So, since there was a time, the ProVari will forever be remembered as the most hated mod on ECF?

I understand what you are saying but since there WAS a time and that time is no longer should all ProVari owners be looked at as idiots who are members of the Church of the ProVari? I have been seeing a lot of eVic posts lately and I am hoping deep down inside that the eVic become the next ProVari. Not that I am wishing anything ill upon eVic owners but it would be nice to see a post about the Church of the eVic.

I actually put off my ProVari purchase once to keep from being included in the typical ProVari group. How sad is that?

I don't know, I guess I'm not seeing what you are seeing. I don't see all the hate or the Provari being the most hated anything. I see members get frustrated sometimes when an OP types a serious question and instead of reading the question and giving an appropriate answer, a member would simply post, "Get a Provari" but even then, I didn't see hateful answers in response. I see plenty of members listing Provari's as one of their PV's in their signatures and mentioning owning them in their posts, including me, and I don't think we would do that if we felt they were the most hated PV on ECF. I guess I don't really care if other people like them, hate them, think they are overpriced or whatever. I just care that mine works well for me. And I'm always happy when other members find what works for them, no matter what it is.

I am not IN love with my ProVari either. It does what I want with a few extras. I just wish that when I mention that I own one I wouldn't catch flack for it. I do not blindly recommend it and I do not think it is the best unit for everyone.

Not every ProVari owner is a fan boy. I just hope that ECF members can differentiate. Otherwise my life on this forum will be difficult.

I've never caught flack for mentioning that I own one and I mention it a lot, along with my other PV's. Where did you catch flack?

Maybe hate is a strong word here. But I have seen plenty of posts insinuating that ProVari owners are a different group of ECF member. I have not seen that with any other mod on the forum. Most other mods are sought after and well respected. I guess that is due to how hard it is to on one of those mods.

I am not looking for pity or to be included in a special group. I am just trying to understand why I see drama when a ProVari is mentioned.

It is not direct but it is intended. I have seen responses to posts I have made that made me think I am being grouped into some cult. I do not take it to heart and I do not lose sleep. I just want to know why this particular mod seems to get more negative attention than others. And some of the posts here have highlighted that. I just find it sad.
