I guess I (like many others) have aligned myself with annoying pushers. I am not that guy nor do I plan to be. I recommend what works for a person based on what they want.

I love my ProVari and I will not let the fanboys keep me down. Thanks to all for the input.

There is no shame in joining the cult :) The next time you see someone bad mouth the ProVari, you can quietly say to yourself... If you only tried one, you would join the cult too! LoL!

For sure, I dig my provari. I also dig a lot of other things. If someone makes a thread asking about the provari or where it applies (by normal standards) I'd mention it as a conditional (you are ready to drop 160-220 dollars) recommendation.

I'll also recommend an evic, zmax, kr808d or ego twist if that seems to fit their needs.

It's just the jumping into a thread spouting off about the provari and then arguing about it that turns people off.

I just try to stick within the framework of an OP's question when it comes to recommendations.

There are fan boys for everything. Why has the ProVari been singled out? I guess because it is the most expensive mod that most people can obtain readily?

I don't see many posts recommending a Caravela or iHy so I see the point. I guess I just got in at the "red headed step-child" level. A ProVari is expensive enough that not everyone is going to spring for it but not expensive or elite enough that only the high end owners will have one. So I get put into a "group" of PV owners that is too cool for the noobs but not cool enough for the elite. Seems fair.

If you can easily obtain an expensive unit then you are a tool for owning and recommending it but as long as you have to get on a list to get it then it is all good. Does that pretty much sum it up?

I really don't care if I'm in a "cool" group or not I don't push a Provari on anyone. I just know I love mine and it works for me. Does it really matter? Isn't not being a slave to analogs the important thing?

I keep seeing the term status symbol thrown around here. If a person needs a status symbol on the internet, well, that's just sad. Myself, I buy what's proven to be reliable these days. Cost isn't an issue for the most part. I did see the Ti Zens released today for 600 bucks, chuckled, and exited out. That right there is what i call getting pimped.

Has it been a week already? My how time flies!
No, I don't like the "Provari fits all needs" train of thought. BUT, I've also notice a lot more lately of people just skimming threads and not listening to what the OP was even asking for! "I want a carto tank" BAM, Get a Vivi Nova! "I want a dripping atty." BAM, You need a carto tank or an RBA! I've seen people recommend an RBA to a poster with 1 post?
I really don't know what's going on anymore! No one is reading, just shoving their favorite thing down some one else's throat, be it a Provari or whatever with total disregard to the OP's needs. It's frustrating when trying to help someone with a problem that's confused already, then overload them with suggestions that don't even fit their needs/wants.
Sorry about my rant, this has been bugging me for a while now.
You want a Provari, buy one! You don't, don't! It's your money, do with it as you chose and it's not up to someone else to decide how you spend it, much less judge you for how you spent it, or you judge them how they spent it!

A big part of the problem is new people keep asking the same question that's already been asked 100 times before. A 2 minute search would get them some answers or at least pointed in the right direction.

I get sick of the same questions so I just skim the post and write whatever most of the time.

Also, my Provaris are my favorite out of the e-cigs I have. They're the most reliable and best performing of the bunch. I still use my LT and VV box mod almost daily as well.

There was a time, especially in the new members forum, that no matter the question a fanboy would answer, "get a Vivi Mini Nova"

Why wont my carto stay wet?...... get a Vivi Mini Nova
how long should my batteries last?...... get a Vivi Mini Nova
why can't I find a juice I like?...... get a Vivi Mini Nova
I'm interested in a cheap device...... get a Vivi Mini Nova
I want a mech mod...... get a Vivi Mini Nova
I'm getting headaches...... get a Vivi Mini Nova
I hate variable voltage...... get a Vivi Mini Nova
what atomizer should I get?...... get a Vivi Mini Nova
I'm looking for a nice start up kit for about 50$......... get 2 Vivi Mini Novas

Those are going to be hilarious in the classifieds in a month.

Whenever i hear the term 'fanboy', i always think of Apple. The issue is not too dissimilar to the tech wars going on in computer forums all the time (i would guess). I think it comes from a very fine line that we walk when offering opinions about things that we genuinely value in our lives...

If we have something that performs well and doesn't give us problems, and we see someone else having problems that we think they can avoid, then naturally we want to share 'our' solution in the hope that someone else can benefit.

Unfortunately this can come across as being smug, or superior or whatever. Sometimes it's done consciously in the hope of being amusing; eg. my girlfriend complaining for the umpteenth time that her android phone isn't working. Me: "that wouldn't happen if you got an iphone" :D of course i know this winds her up, so i'd do it for kicks. Normally, however, there is no bad intent. I would never push an iphone, or any specific model/platform on anyone. But if they ask................

I ordered a provari for a few reasons... accuracy, consistency, durability and manufacturing quality. I did NOT care about its looks (nothing special), nor it's potential as a status symbol (boring). If it does its job, i'll be happy with it. Please let me know if i turn into a 'fanboy' after i get it. I promise to stop it immediately :)

We must disseminate what we know about the Provari and why it is, to many vapers, new and veteran, considered to be the be-all-end-all of APVs. I hesitate to call it a mod because nothing has been modified.

1. USA built.
Amurrica! Yes, it is 100% built in America. It has a lifetime warranty (correct me if I'm wrong)

2. The durability and the quality of the product.
I do not own one, but I've handled many, and it is a very sturdy piece of machinery. It will take a lickin' and keep on tickin'.

3. The consistency.
It has super-fancy chip technology that will give you that perfect vape up and until it's time to change the battery.

4. Variable Voltage
This is arguable since a lot of APV's (hell, almost all of them) offer VV. The batteries range from 650 mAh Kgo VV's to Twists to Spinners to who knows what else. But with the Provari you're pretty much safe in assuming the volt you lock in is the voltage you're going to get. The Twist is acceptable, the Spinner, I can't say, I don't own one. [EDIT: Ohm check function. One of the greatest things ever to come out in the vaping world. I love this function. But now that I got it on my Vamo, I'm not too impressed -- unless the Provari's ohm checker trumps the Vamo's. I'm not an electrician or an engineer.]

5. Longevity
As many others have said, you don't have to replace the Provari. Ever (fingers crossed). Just the batteries and the juice delivery system. With Twists, you might get a year, two years max from the battery. Then it's toss and replace. I'm not knocking the Twist, I love mine. But as far as longevity goes, Provari > Twist.

I say all these things not owning a Provari. But I've held enough, vaped enough, and been around enough Provari owners to understand their Provari "....".

I'm a nerd. Before I collected PVs, I was obsessed with samurai swords. It was a huge learning curve also. Lingo. "Rat-tail wallhanger" < "battle-ready full tang". "Stainless Steel" < "carbon steel". Fake "hamon" < real "hamon". "Musashi Economy" vs "Paul Chen". I started at the bottom and worked my way up. Now that I have a considerable samurai sword collection :):snort:: ::pushes glasses up::), I'm focused on PV's.

I totally lost my train of thought so I'm ending this post here...

I really want a Chi You...

I wouldn't be opposed to one or a Caravela. It's the list thing, I am not stalking multiple forums. Also, even though I can swing the amount, I am not paying classies prices on principle.

I'll probably end with an EA for my next mech mod, nice and available.

TBH, hybrids don't do anything for me. I'm not big on iHybrids designs and Zens are tubes with buttons.

I know zip about it - I just think it's purdy.
