So we had a bad chimney fire today, and the fire department wouldn't let us go back in, but they were super nice when they got our meds about also getting my pvs (and chargers) and juice. And, one who was a smoker had lots of questions about how it works, so I may have gained a convert. At least one positive out of the deal.

Oh my - that's so not nice to hear about. Here's hoping you get back in the house soon.

Chimney fire! Ban fire!

Oh, that didn't make the news??
If I remember correctly, wood fires ARE banned in some states. I remember that from some home improvement show or other where they put in a fake fireplace because real ones were illegal.

Apparently, it was found that the practice of burning wood caused the danger of an uncontrolled fire.
Which is actually a better reason than any they have given for banning vaping.

Oh wow, so sorry to hear about the fire! Hopefully you'll be able to get back in quickly. I guess you could say another good thing to come out of the ordeal is that nobody was hurt. You can deal with stuff as long as nobody gets hurt. Keep us posted.

Snowing in Louisiana???!! This has to be the wickedest winter in twenty years!!

OK, guys-- j-wraps

I liked this one, but with it wrapped on a tube, the design is too big. 110
Yesterday, this one was great!! 15
However, I like this one better today. 35

Do you notice a trend--Perhaps just maybe.

These two are also-rans--- 205 88

Decisions, decisions.

I did get the 110. Here's what it looks like on my ProVari Mini

Amoret, I am glad you got out with no personal harm. Are you going to have any help cleaning up? Getting the smoke smell out would almost demand going to a laundromat-- you really don't want to waste time doing one load at a time.

Janet-- and I was just about to order #208. Rave over at Voltville says 208 would be too bright for her.

Well, we do periodically have burn bans, sometimes due to inversion layers and air quality, sometimes due to extremely dry weather and fire danger. But those are in specific counties, not generally statewide. Hadn't heard of any full state bans, but who knows?

Electricity keeps going off. The people who own this place are just as frustrated as I am. They came in and took a look at my heater, which is the newest. Planning on replacing some of the oldest. Circuits are overloaded. I told them they ought to offer to cover windows with that pink foam insulation--VERY efficient, although it cuts down on the light. They have another family home in Louisiana; need I say more?

I am afraid to work, for fear the electricity would go off again, and I would lose my work. But she promised she would tell me first.

Janet, I ordered the 110. Thank you for the picture.

And make sure that it is a charging hub. The one I have now has two 1a outlets and two 2a (which I need for my kindle fire hd) but some hubs don't have the oomph to actually charge more than one thing at a time. If anyone wants, I could look up the Amazon order I got mine on and post a link.

I have a couple e-Go-C's, Vision Spinners, VV V3's and MVP2. I'm guessing the 1a outlets would be OK for them.

Have NO Kindle Fires, iPads, cell phones, etc. Could I use the 2a outlets for them?

[In 2014 time is scarce for everyone...but should you find the time...an Amazon link would be quite appreciated!]

Well we ended up getting nearly 3 inches of snow. I was awakened at 1:30 in the morning by 2 young people having a snowball fight outside the window. It is melting now.

On the vaping front the new nitecore i4 was delivered today. I am letting it come up to room temperature before plugging it in.

A dear sweet person on ECF sent me a Diver 1 (mine is the Diver 2). Unfortunately it is a standard size not an XL so it will have to wait until after the 1st when I can order a standard size tank to try it in. Oh lookie a new toy AND an excuse for a new IBTanked in one lovely little box!

You may want to look at something like this: Amazon.com: APC BE350G UPS System: Electronics

While you're not going to run your computer for long with the smaller ones, they will keep things running long enough for you to save your work and shut down in the proper manner.

And you can plug your wall wart or charging hub in as well :)

I see you linked to the V3 of that mod. Why not the V5 instead?

Sorry it took me a while to get back to ya. The V5 has the mobile phone connection, which I'd rather avoid (extra parts to lose).

My V3 order was cancelled (OOS). Therefore, I need to do some more 'window shopping'.

BTW, I'm down to my last VV Gripper. The other two served me well. They're now in da Apocalypse box for parts.

Thanks, but we're talking small town. No delivery at all, no salvation army, and calling a church would just roust the pastor out of bed. I've had a lot worse things happen to me than missing a meal. (Though my husband is a little cranky about it)

This is exactly why Amazon Drone Delivery needs further investigation .. they could have dropped you a care package in under an hour ..

WOW!! I didn't know such a thing is available-- I thought they were all huge monsters with enough power for an hour, not what I need. I'll wait and see if there are any further problems. This place just wasn't built for major electricity drain.

The do come in all sizes and shapes. Unless you're running a lot of gear, or want to keep working through a blackout, the small ones that give 15 minutes or so with your load is plenty of time to take care of business. And running your computer through it, it should stay on through a brief blip in the line as well. Most also add a degree of surge protection.

I also have the 81 on my sigelei which I think looks really nice and the 11 is waiting to be put on my other sigelei. Being mini's the bottom has to be cut off, you can see the line toward the bottom in the pictures. The magnolia flower might be too big, maybe I should have gotten 24 or 35 instead. Oh well. It can always be changed it later. I talked Mike into getting #48 for his and it looks great. SO much better than his usual black.

Thanks for all the Welcomes!
I have to laugh, hubby is on a kick to keeping the batteries charged! He rotates them as the indicator light turns green! Since all are the Evod 1300's he thinks that the minute one is done, he needs to charge the next, and then he runs into the bedroom to keep checking! ("It's still orange, Oh! it's almost green....") We have 3, a Pink and a stainless(mine) and he has a black one. Sometimes he forgets which one he charged! (Gives him something to do I guess...
Still working on the house, but have been leaving the windows cracked slightly to let air in, and it is helping. Going to get a couple of those Febreeze CarVent thingys after I use the Odor Gone. Thinking of taking it somewhere and having it detailed too!
PeePaw you need to keep up updated on your surgery! I need to have surgery on both of my shoulders and at least one knee, and have to come up with about 1,200.00 before the hospital will even do the prelim MRI's! (Thanks Obama!
Still having a bit of an issue with having to 'clear my throat' a lot, but the actual coughing is almost gone! My hair is even getting better! Not as dry as it was ....
I love the fact that I am just feeling so much better!:D

The 'Burgh, PA.
This is the charging hub that I got, and I'm very happy with it.
Amazon.com: Antec Quad Port USB Charging Station (UA4-25): MP3 Players & Accessories

I'm pretty ignorant about charging stations...

Is this "Anker® 25W 5-Port USB Family-Sized Desktop Charger" basically the "same" thing (but with an additional USB port and $7 cheaper)?
