Fresh out of the noob pool but I am here despite 47 years of smoking plus 5 years of working in tobacco fields and going to school in the fall with what I know now was withdrawal symptoms.
My first day of first grade I spent in the principles office for committing defenestration with a student who cut in line ahead of me. I was a big kid and the elementary school windows are about calf height now... But starting smoking at ten cured my problem... And led me to the place I am today. Battling a lifelong addiction.

Started with a blu from the drugstore then ordered a starter 808 kit from smoovcigs. I know I am going to move into more intricate toys since I have nearly everything else that can be put into a usb port already. Just ordered a vv passthrough from DV since I am never more than 5 feet from a computer unless I am asleep.

I have been vaping for about a month and I feel better and can do 200% more yard work before I have to sit and rest.

My background is in computers and electronics and I have never owned anything with a plug or battery that I did not take apart to see how it worked.

I tried to read this whole thread but gave up at page 88 or so and just started skipping ahead ..

So here I am at both the beginning and the end of a virtual journey. As soon as I quit buying toys juice and DIY equipment, I figure I will start saving around 600.00 a month :)

@txtumbleweed....Thanks! I found them at a couple of other places now too. Really looking forward to trying the Nova. I trust your judgment. Thanks again!!

@caffeinator...Woot! How very kind of you to find that for me. Thank you!!!!

So tempted to get that Stone. But I really want the Nova too. Unfortunately, with the lack of rain and heat we're having this summer, my money tree in the back yard isn't producing like it should. Think I'll go with the Nova for now. :)

Eric carries the E3 Rebuildable Clearomizer and a E2 "stardust" type too, and he almost can't be beat for price or fast shipping.

Me, I bought a 5-pack of regular E3 clearos and an E2 "Apollo" Tank. :D

Check out Lord Davon's review on the Apollo, he likes them better than the Nova's. Plus, they come in colors and are metal.

Welcome to the group Dizzy...lots of good folks here to chat with and sounds like you are making good headway on your non-smoking journey..

I am a ex mechanic so I also take stuff apart..

I am a few days from 1 year of no analogs and I can tell you that once you find what you like you will save money

Until recent when I decided to go with vv devices I was spending about $40 a month on DIY stuff and cartos so not too bad..

welcome Dizzy!!!!!!!!!!

oh my gosh, EIGHTY dollars??????

I know they run about 50 bucks here in Florida for the prime brands,,,,,,,I had gone to the off brand for the last few years, which was about 35.00 per carton,,,,,,,,my smoking increased ridiculous amounts,,,,,,,and my adult child who lives here always managed to bum a few packs a week off me,,,,,,,so I was going through 2 cartons a week,,,,,,,

all I can say is my husband is a very patient man. Generous too. I seriously can't wait to save that money for a cruise,,,we promised eachother a cruise with my savings.

Welome home dizzy,

You'll fit right in around here. Most of us are kicking a 30-40 year habbit and now that we found vaping and each other are having a lot of fun. Be careful about jumping in and buying stuff. It's easy to get caught up trying every new thingie that comes along and buying big shiny PVs. Don't be shy about asking questions - there's lots of varied experience here to help you along.

omg, it just struck me,,,,,,i smoked for 30 years.

faint.

when I think of how much that COST me,,,,,,,I could probably RETIRE on it,,,,,,,,,,sickening.

I know right? I couldn't believe it had been 40 for me!!! To think of all of that money just literally going up in smoke makes me want to hurl. BUT...I just looked at my counter and I have NOT smoked 6,000 cigarettes since I quit on 12/10/2011. And I sure do feel ALOT better for it.

CommaHolly...I'm rooting for you to save up for that cruise with your hubby. Sounds awesome! :)

The stone 3 isn't a vivi nova. I've got them both and the vivi is better :)
If you really don't want to go with GV here's another place
Vision Vivi Nova Tanks and Parts

Several places have the V2 Vivi Nova....only place that has the updated version (V2.5) that I'm aware of is Got Vapes. There are differences....like where the air holes are, height of the center column, top cap. I know some don't like Got Vapes, but I have gotten nothing but good service from them so far.

The Apollo aka Super Excalibur is very good and I think it has a better flavor than the Vivi Nova. I've just had a couple of issues like the gurgling and some leakage that I haven't had with the Vivi Nova. You can get a tank for 7.00 or a 900 mah kit for 36.00 at Ego 510 900Mah Super Excalibur Kit [Super exc 900 kit] - $36.00 : Vapors Choice, Ecigarettes & Parts I was very tempted to buy the last kit but I just have too many PV's. It is a good buy though. I think DV charges 60.00 for the kit.

Well, this place is just too friendly not to post!

I've been reading most of your posts for quite awhile now and since I am 72, I definitely fit into the category of 'older' folks!

I've been vaping since April '09 and with my first vape, I was sold. I have a friend in Altamonte Springs who was kind enough to let me experience vaping while at lunch one day. Of course I had to give the battery back to her after we were done eating!
I got in the car to go home and lit a cigarette and I couldn't finish it. It tasted so......dirty.....went home got online and ordered my kit. I had smoked those nasties since I was 22.......that's 47 years! OMGoodness, just typing that, it seems incredible.

I've been using 808s since the beginning, and I've been very satisfied. I get good t/h, good vapor and good flavor...at least most of the time. I know I'm probably in the minority when I say I love the 808s, but I like it simple sweet.
It was DonDaBoom who recommended the Volt last August, and have been using their products ever since.

Lately, I've been sort of peeking at all the other stuff that can be had, but I simply have too much 808 gear to switch, so when I bought the Phoenix, I did get adapters, and now am using the 808 Phoenix. They're OK, but I feel the flavors are a bit muted.

I'm waiting for SI to have their 30% sale tomorrow starting at 6pm and will get the newer X2. I have SIs clearomizers also, and while I love the style, it does have its weaknesses. Glad I only got three of them.

Oh wow, when I start yapping, I have a hard time stopping.........so, am stopping now!

I totally agree with you Diva, got my Vivi Nova v2.5 from GV today and have another Vivi Nova v2...there is a difference. I do like the V2.5 better, air holes in the threads and not on the knurled bottom piece. Just a minor detail, but it really works well. Somewhat of an airy draw, but not too much for me. I'm vaping a fairly thin (more PG) juice and it will probably handle VG pretty good as well...will be checking that tomorrow.

I'm very happy with GV, got to get a couple more orders and re-apply to Alpha. They are shipping from about 200 mi. from me and it was fast...ordered in the evening and it was shipped next morning, FAST. :toast:
