We are on the same page...I add banana.to thGJ and cinnamon to BB. I agree they seem related in taste.
Easy on the cinnamon. I'm trying to duplicate BB and hope to make me a GALLON of it and add banana for a change. :D
:glare:
I never thought of cinnamon, that's a great Idea! If you ever figure out the formula to BB you should start up your own juice business, you could make a fortune. If you asked 100 people what it tastes like you would get 100 different answers. Are you sure a gallon would be enough?

God Bless the U.S.A. our Troops and all the wonderful people in this great country! I shall return!

Please, no one take this the wrong way... but Monday is for those that lost their lives in the quest for and continuance of our freedoms. Being a Nam vet with 20 years served, I do truly cherish the growing appreciation for all vets, past and present. But Memorial Day is not for any surviving vet including myself; they and I came home alive. Armed Forces Day, July 4th and Veterans Day is when I celebrate being alive.

Monday is my day for grateful and reverent grieving with TAPS...

Good morning All
Its Saturday so its a workday for me.

Way to go tiny.
Im still not 100% tobaccoless. But the last couple days its gone from 4 or 5 to 1 or 2.

Hello JayPMac, nice story and sounds like it is working all the way around for you.

Elbert! Good for you! Really. I've always thought it was just fine to smoke while you were transitioning to vaping and it looks like you're doing just fine! I've got friends who think they have to totally give up smoking when they start vaping and that's just not the way it works for a lot of people. Most cut down smoking a lot when they start vaping and that in itself is a healthy plus! I tell them if they can relax and enjoy vaping smoking just naturally drops off. Everybody has to find their own pace and for some people it just doesn't work at all. Fine - in your own time. I always resented people who told me what I should do and when to do it. I think having a site like this is immensely helpful, especially for older people trying to transition without the pressure. It really is different for people who have smoked for decades.

I have known my doctor for over 20 years and we kind of talk on a personal level as well as a doctor patient level. He told me that he cannot openly suggest e-cigs since they are still an unknown - legal stuff and all that... He is happy for me and pats any of his patients on the back that change over, but cannot openly suggest it... Still tells all of his smoking patients that they need to stop smoking of course and offers patches etc. to any that want to quit...

I think that's great that your doc is happy about your change to eCigs. Truly, because most docs just don't know enough about vaping and just dismiss them as being beneficial at all. But I have to wonder why he wouldn't suggest eCigs as an alternative along with the other methods of quitting smoking. I mean, if you look at the side effects of Chantex... Mike's head doc was after him for years to quit smoking. Docs must be aware of the poor response to the patches etc. When Mike asked his doc about Chantex he said no way. Had too may problems with patients on that stuff. He was thrilled when Mike told him he switched to eCigs and talked about the benefits of nicotine WITHOUT all the crap you get with cigarettes. Docs won't recommend stuff they see it in a journal. Very frustrating. But hopeful that it will come, I'm sure of it, as long as docs truly are interested in what's good for their patients.

It is odd to me the different perspectives different Doctors have regarding e-cigarette.
Mine was happy as a clam, She smiled from Ear to Ear when I told her.

Well I offically need another battery.
sitting here at work , just me and I guess Im vaping to much cause I now have a uncharged battery and one that is about 1/2 charged.

I did enter the Volt photo thing and when I here back I can get 1 free battery.
Still strongly looking at the Kuwaka pipe and 1 1300 bat and 3 mil cart.

Hope everyone is doing good.

Hi Janet and Semi Retired,
Talking about Doctors it would be worth your while to check out the Vapeteam utube video episode 25 where they interview an MD who has conducted tests on vaping vs. analogs. He is scheduled to address one of the biggest MD gatherings in Europe soon. Hopefully US Doc's will see the results in a med journal in the near future. Keep on vaping.

Well my 3 ml Phoenix started giving me some dry hits today. I lost track of how much juice I ran through it but somewhere around 20 ml I think. Taking off the metal sleeve and squeezing the tube to get it wicking worked for the day. I decided to clean it and it was rather easy but I messed up the wick and too much juice was flooding it so I will either try rewicking it or wait to get a replacement tank when they get them in stock. My Vivi Nova is still working very good and cleaning them is very easy too.

After all the failed attempts I made trying to quit smoking I had the attitude that I didn't care what it costs I'm willing to pay it if it works. I've made some bad purchases on gear and ended up with some awful juice but I don't regret it. Today I celebrated 2 months without a smoke, like you said "it was well worth it".

Yeah! - Congratulations! Yes, anything is worth it to stop smoking. I'm hoping that you now have some reasonable gear and are enjoying vaping. That sure does make it easier when you have good gear and good tasting juice. Surprisingly, many of the middle-priced PVs are excellent and will get the job done without breaking the bank. You can also figure in what you're saving by not smoking. Continued good luck to you.

I am 60 and smoked for 45 years, 3 PAD for about 8 of them. I had tried to quit more times than I can remember and had come to the conclusion that I would die smoking. I was having some breathing problems, coughing constantly with lack of energy. I had seen some articles & adverts for e-cigs several years ago but dismissed them as a new fad that was worthless. Little did I know then!
Early in February I saw a link on weather.com about "e-cigs exposed" and I clicked on it to see if my earlier opinion was correct. How could I have been so wrong? I did some research and in late Feb. I ordered an 808 starter kit and went from 30 cigs a day to 4 a day overnight. After the frustration of always having a battery charging and always wanting to have a smoke I found this forum and with the support & advice from "Older People" here I got a Kgo and upped my nic level. My last analog was 22 days ago!!!
Since I started vaping I have avoided 13 cartons of analogs! I am now into DIY juices and am going to attempt a Live oak cover for my Kgo. Also I have finally had my wife tell me that she is proud of me for quitting smoking. Life is great!
Vape on!

Yeah! - Congratulations! - Way to go! My wife gave me a lot of encouragement also, and I really appreciate it. I've been off of cigarettes since 2-5-2011 and I don't miss them at all. I've also tried some DIY juices that aren't bad at all, especially when you consider the amount of money saved. Hang in there - you've got it made.

Good Morning Everyone! I hope everyone has a blessed day.

I hear the spending more on esmokes than tobacco...well, in Realville, probably not...on tobacco in and of itself, yeppers!

In regards to the benefits, Priceless! (I only inject this, because too often we take our health for granted...or maybe it's just me.)

Waiting for the Eagle to take a dump (cleaned that one up, that was payday in the Army) so I can get my next shiny object...

After a couple of weeks of vaping I knew I was in it for the long haul and bought a ProVari expecting that it will serve me well for a long time. My vaping costs still exceed what my smoking costs would have been for the last 2 months, and I'm okay with that. I am beginning to see that difference in costs shrink now that I've found my groove. But knowing me I'll probably go and buy some big ticket item and make that deficit even larger again.

I figure what I spend on vaping now I won't be spending on COPD meds, oxygen bottles, and wheelchairs in the future. I can't put a price tag on that.

I did the same thing.....after a month of vaping, I ordered a lavatube, which got me hooked on variable voltage. Then sold the lavatube to a friend, and bit the bullet on a ProVari. I looked at all kinds of mods, and knowing myself, knew I would eventually get the ProVari .... so figured I saved myself a lot of money by just going ahead and getting it rather than "working my way up to it". Ony problem is....now I want a ProVari Mini to go with it...lol.

54 years old , smoked for only 15 years... Been vaping for 2 1/2 years now.. Love it....
Provari V2 Black Satin-Blue LED---SuperT Precise+ 18650-- Use 100% VG 30mg(Just lowered from 36mg)...
Ready to add some more mods to my collection... Provari Mini Green Led and a SuperT Precise+ 16340...

Hi Riverboat - way to go! 2 1/2 yrs into the vaping journey. I'm curious about using 30 mg nic. I started at 24 (former 2 PPD+ smoker), and my vaping habit quickly became basically non-stop through-out the day. I was feeling somewhat nic'ed out, so cut back to 18 mg. I guess I was (am) chain vaping because even after 7 months, I don't get the satisfaction from vaping that I did from smoking. When using a high nic vape, do you put the PV down and give it a rest.

Curious, as you have a Precise and a ProVari - what do you like about each compared to the other. And I'm glad ProVape did do away w/ their blue leds. If I could add another to my collection, I'd like the mini w/ blue led to match it's big brothers (I have a satin and a black chrome).

If anyone has bought a 1.5 LT there has been a glitch found in them that can cause them to melt down. One of the suppliers is recalling all of his after it happened to his while it was just sitting on his desk.
The problem stems from hitting the power button too many times causing it to go into a low power mode and you think it is off but it isn't. Evidently just setting in this low power mode for several hours can cause it to meltdown even without hitting the button from what I understand. I checked mine and sure enough it does as explained.
Here is one thread about it. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...talclearvaping-com-information-thread-59.html

That's a good post Tex - can't hurt to spread the word about a faulty PV. Good for CCV, looks like they are/will be replacing their customers 1.5's with 2.0's.

The LT Co-op I'm in (should be arriving next week) went with the 1.0 because of the issues with the 1.5's. A little less features, but doesn't have the safety issue.

Well, I'm rapidly approaching 6 weeks smoke free. Like many folks, I have spent lots of $$$ on this new journey but I am slowly finding the systems that work for me. At work, I carry a 650 mah eGo as it's fairly compact and I keep a stock of supplies and a charger in the office. I still only use cartos as the whole clearomizer thing is just to confusing to me. There about a zillion different ones and they all have their fans and detractors. I'd probably give the Phoenix models a shot but they are always out of stock and the vendor gets a lot of negative comments. I generally use Boge LR cartos and I like them. I received a box of Resurrectors with my Epower 14650 and they are a great combo.

While the Epower is a bit large to carry around at work, I really like it for a home unit. I also have a Lavatube clone (from Apollo) and I find that I rarely change the voltage and stay at 3.7 volts or so. All the juice I am fond of tastes the best to me at this voltage so that's what I use. Anyway, I like the Epower and my eGo is a great at work unit. I've order a few boxes of the Resurrectors as my son really likes the one I gave him and I feel better with spares on hand. I also ordered a half-dozen batteries (14650 & 18350) for my units as well as 2 extra chargers. I like redundancy as it assures me I won't find myself without when a craving hits...

Morning

Well 3 of those 5 Boge that stopped working in the middle of a first fill, started working last night.
Had to check again and the 1 a tiny bit of vapor was produced I thumped it lightly tried again and it started working.
Took the other 4 and thumped them and 2 more came to life. The last 2 just really are broke.
Why oh why would thumping a Boge carto would cause it to work again? and only 3 out of 5?

Great to hear all the stories.
I started smoking when I was 15, smoked for 25 years, then I quit cold turkey.
Did not smoke for 8 years, then I went through a divorce and started smoking again.....
Then 4 years ago, in april, I read about the electronic cigarette.
The only way you could buy one back then was ordering one from China, it came with one atomizer, one battery a couple of carts, no juice, for about $ 100.00,
It almost broke immediately, it was a mess back then, sent it back to China, wait forever for the replacement to arrive.
In July of 2008 I bought the KISS box, ordered it from the Netherlands, I had my last cigarette on July 21 2008.
Slowly vendors started popping up, selling the e-cig in the USA.
I now only use the eGo and cartomizers.
I don't vape very much, but enjoy it after a meal or in the evening.
I know I'll never smoke again, my health is so much better and I feel better, my house and car smell clean.
I can't believe the nasty stank when someone stands next to me in a store who just had a cigarette.....I used to smell like that.....never again.

Congrats on almost 4 years Embrel!

That surprise stink when standing in line gets to me too. The first time it happened to me was about a week after I quit and for a moment I couldn't figure out what it was. Once I realized that the guy next to me was a smoker I was humiliated thinking I smelled like that for 40 years.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your story,

The v1 and 1.5 are made by two different companies. I have both and they both work very good. My 1.5 has the glitch and now that I'm aware of it I will be more careful when turning it off. I never turn mine off unless I'm traveling anyways. I will definately be keeping a close eye on my 1.5 though.:)
