I thought I was done buying for a while but I went ahead and ordered a pair of ViVi Nova's from GV this morning. They are getting rave reviews from folks I listen to here on ECF and I'm all for convenience. I use bigger PVs at home and I think one of these on top of my mini VTube might just be the cat's meow...

I got a Vivi Nova from Hoosier E-Cig today, the only thing that seems sort of strange is the length of the wicks. All the pictures I've seen of other V2s have wicks that extend to the base of the tank, the ones I got have to be about 3/8" long and extend only to the side of the tank. It's not a big negative, I don't mind twirling the tank to soak the wicks, I just wasn't expecting them to be so short.

I put on the 2.8 ohm head, some Gorilla juice in the tank, put it on my ProVari and started playing with the voltage. I found that 3.7 volts was the sweet spot for me, it brought out the best taste and produced a very nice cloud of vapor. So I put it on my eGo clone and it worked just as well, even though it looks odd on the eGo it will be nice to have that flexability. With the 2.8 ohm head performing so well at 3.7 volts I wonder if I've got a low enough voltage setting to use the 1.8 ohm head, I'll have to save that trial for another day.

Thanks to Harley Diva for turning me on to the Vivi Nova!
Glad to hear the new ones are working good,I got some of the first version when they where released. And didn't have much success. I might have to give the new ones a try.
My wife and myself received our Provari mini's,and all I have to say is wow. It's a quality machined piece of equipment.
So thanks to all that gave your input before I purchased.

Welcome to the group Cool_Breeze. Always nice when someone new comes through the door. I'm mainly a tobacco flavor fan too - but I'm not DIYer.

Well I'd rather go through security w/ my Provari than one of these 7mm Calibre from JR Custom Turning. He has a .308 Calibre too. I think they're cool looking and would like one - but it's not in my near future that's for sure. Getting my 3rd provari a few weeks ago, means a long-long time before another PV enters my collection.

I've been through some screening with the ProVari, haven't had a problem yet. The police at the local courthouse sure though it was interesting, but let me through without question when I volunteered to demo it. They passed on it, and I passed through.

I got back from vacation at the beginning of the week, and couldn't imagine taking that thru security. Taking Kgo,juice, cartos, stardust, was stressful enough. Went thru Columbus easy, they actually thanked me for taking everything out of my computer bag and putting in the X-ray bucket. But Orlando was a different story.

Now that raised my curiosity - you can't stop there. What happened in Orlando?

You are very welcome :2cool: I just donated my V1 to my sort of son in law....got 2 new ones coming. On the wicks....there was a V2 that had the short wicks. Got Vapes has what they are calling V2.5....has the long wicks. With that one you have a choice. On my V1, I trimmed the wicks to about 1/2"....some people trimmed them shorter.

Curious if V2 Twist-On Replaceable V2.5 Head will work with the original Vivi Nova Tank? Thought you may know the answer to that, thanks!

Thanks Richard. I saw that one also, but didn't have pliers. And this was one of the old stardusts with the easy crack tubes. (Didn't realize that when I bought it). Decided to practice on that one instead of the new one in case I broke the stardust. (yeah right, the stardust is fine) lol

Thanks iffy. I'll have to mangle a paper clip or something to see if I can get the cap off when I try to do this again. I'm very fumble fingered, so figured since it's so small, that it might be easier to just take the plastic part off. That's what I get for thinking. But an angel is helping me out with a battery. So it's all good, lesson learned.

The heads are supposed to be interchangeable with all vivi nova versions. Also a new stardust coming that will use the heads I think

Thanks, just got the Vivi in the mail...from a classified...it's suppose to be V2 and I'm not really sure my memory serves me correctly, but think I recall something about the V1 had 4 air holes. The one I have has 2 air holes at the base. It's nice it's a 510 connection for the replaceable coils and may have to get the Stardust when it comes around. I do like the Vivi no matter what version it is. :toast: It's a little 'Airy', but not too much. Some may not like that, though. :)

Thanks again

I use a hemostat, but long tweezers will work too. I have never taken the tube off a Stardust to clean it....just the top silicone cap. I rinse mine out well, and then throw them in the jewelry cleaner in water for several cycles. Got some that have been going for almost 3 months. Still haven't seen a coil go....just cracks in the tubes.

Well it was an older gentleman sitting at the x-ray machine and most likely wasn't up to date on e-cig stuff.
But anyway as I walked thru the body scan I was standing there waiting for my buckets to come thru (for like 10 min).
As I looked over I could see he was examining my buckets, then he called to the other inspectors (about 8 of them).
They all stood looking at it then looking over at me,at the same time I'm telling them it's an electronic cigarett (I figured that was something they would understand). Then one of them took some stuff and walked over to someone else to show them. Mind you the airport is packed, and about 20 min has gone by. Then they all huddled, laughed a little a said have a good day. They said the only stuff they have seen looked like a cig,but now they know. Lucky me,I was the first with a Kgo,which I find hard to believe.
Glad I didn't have my Provari!

I've taken my Lava Tube through several times and no one has blinked. Last time I had about five PV's and no problem at all. I guess it all depends on the airport.

I'm about an inch from going to the store and buying a pack of cigarettes.

I received a new batch of CE4s yesterday from DV and they SUCK. Out of the 7 bought I've tried 4 and the draw is so tight they are useless. Even setting them on top of the battery, without even starting to screw them on chokes the airflow. Normally no problem but these are what I brought with me for my weekend in SC. So right now I have 1 working CE4 and 1 working Resurrector carto with me. I brought the CE4s rather than the CE3s simply because syringes kind of freak out my wife.

Needless to say I'm VERY frustrated that Chinese QC isn't worth spit. I have 1 that works perfectly so they can make a good one but they sure make a lot of bad one. I really hope I make it through the weekend on my scarce supplies.

Is there anything I can do to fix/modify these to be usable?

If I was home in GA, no problem as I have 3 boxes of Resurrectors on the shelf. I hate to carry a suitcase full of vaping supplies with me but that looks like the future...

Do a search, maybe there is a vape shop in the area where you are????

There is one about 40 miles away, VapingZone, and I may make a run tomorrow. My son had a shorty 510 extension and it helps to makes the CE4s almost usable. It might be Dremel time tomorrow as I'm tired of wasting money on stuff that doesn't work well...

I feel so bad for you NG! Maybe it would be a good idea to go to the VapingZone store to at set your mind at ease for the weekend. At least you've got something to work for right now. How frustrating for you! Hang in there, I hope it works out for you.
