Hey Gloria, Here is how I've done it on adding the cotton wick to T2's. I've done it 2 different ways.
1. making the little cotton wick from the roll cotton that Mike posted instructions for and
2. using worsted weight cotton yarn that I boiled in distilled water for 5 minutes. I have no clue how long you are supposed to boil stuff
I took the rubber/silicone top off the coil head thingy. Immediately under that, there is a really tiny round metal piece at the top - I took that out. It's tiny so don't lose it like I almost did. I thought I was too old to crawl up under my desk but found out I can still do that!
Once you remove that tiny round metal top piece, you can just slide the wick down that groove in the cylinder, centered over the coil. Then put that teeny metal thingy back on. It can be a bit uncooperative but it's not really hard to get it back on if you don't drop it like me.
I also cut the v shape cut on each side of the rubber/silicone piece so that where it goes over the wicking, it doesn't restrict it, like Mike showed us.
So far, the cotton yarn has been more to my liking. With the roll cotton, I got a definite cotton taste, but I may have made my wick too thick, so I plan to try it again. Both of them wicked great. I love having the really long wick down to the bottom of the tank/tube - no more rolling. I didn't really mind that, but now that I don't have to do it, I'm even happier. The cotton yarn doesn't seem to affect flavor one way or the other.
I hope I s'plained it ok.
I see we have more input on what satisfies. Interesting to see everybody's take on V,F&TH.
I have to run some errands, but will get back on later. In the meantime, would somebody please have mercy on me and post about how you're adding cotton to the T2? And is it the cotton from CVS that Frankie was getting? I must have missed those posts or the info already leaked out of my cheesecloth for a brain. Thanks!!!! :0
