I have now tried 3 totally different juices on this ZAP and have determined that I'm getting no taste and therefore I have a definite wicking problem. I guess it's time to roll my own before I give up.

Fran - how about testing your 'wicking theory' by diluting a bit of your juice w/ 10-20% distilled water. That should thin it down and at least see if it wicks better.

When you put you wicks in - to they fit loosely. If they're a tight or snug fit it will interfere wicking.

OK.. WHY the mini? And WHY an extension thingee? LOL the "thingee".

As to a back-up, no prolly not the volt. I'm already worn out w/ charging those batteries, I think. They take 4-EVER to charge. And have to refill the Nanos all the time. Worn out already by all of that, and hauliing a bunch of stuff around. SO maybe don't need 2 Provaris, but gotta do better than the VOLT for plan B.
1st time posting on this thread so Hello everyone. I just wanted to add my :2c:
I have a Provari Mini and Electric Angel with an MVP as a back up. I just wanted to buy something that worked. Size was a factor and quality.
Compaired to a Egos the are heavier. Yes, I wanted the takes a lincking and keeps on ticken.

I like the ibtanked tanks. Cost is around $30.00 for a glass tank, the 19mm XL looks quite nice.
And I'm waiting for AGA+T so I'm pretty sure I'll be asking for alot help soon...sorry for lurking on the fringes!

The wicks are loose. Trying water now.

Welcome rocky - see your 1st post already contributed to the the thread - I've never heard of an Electric Angel - off to my friend google to see what it is.

I added water. It has no burnt taste at a couple vapes. Plenty of vapor but just that bland no taste I've been getting on everything. I filled with a strong yucky tobacco this time and have no taste at all of it.

"Plenty of vapor" - progress - hooray! Not surpising the flavor is bland if you diluted it w/ water. Even w/ a decent setup, depending on the juice/flavor, it can take 1/2 to 2 tanks to break in a new SS mesh wick.

yiddle beat me to the girly thread suggestion ;-) I got to the end of the page late.

and you don't need two Provaris, just one and two batteries - and then the world is yours to command...

How I wish I could get something like that...... :(

Ok, thanks for that, as buying TWO Provaris is a bit daunting.

Just personal preference on my end Natasha. I like flexibility :D If I won the lotto and got one, I doubt I would use the extension often, but having it would be nice. I use Ego-T Mods and recently got the short tube for it...really liking having both sizes.

    Ah... ok thanks.

The ProVari is a wonderful device, but it is pretty heavy. It would be quite a change going from a Volt to one of them. Tx had suggested a Rider Robust to me and I now have 4 of them. 2 black, a red and a purple. The black has a rubberized finish and the red and purple are "royal" colors in a shiny finish. The Robust is round and the L-Rider is square. They have a multi colored one that I like as well. Here's a link

Newest design!!!Rider-Robust is L-rider original design!!!Stainless steel material!!!!!!!,View Rider-Robust,L-rider Product Details from L-Rider Technology Co., Ltd. on Alibaba.com

Thank you. I like the look of these. Might be a good mod to start with.

When you have a device that takes batteries all you have to do is pop in a new battery and you're good to go. It's not like you have to plug in your device. The battery is a 600 mAh so it's not a large one (about the size of a AA battery) It lasts me several hours and I do rotate between my devices during the day. I have no idea how durable they are because I've only had them a couple months, but so far so good.

The big consideration for me with the ProVari is that it's very heavy. The regular size one feels like carrying a flashlight to me! My mini fits a smaller hand better, but it's strictly a personal preference.

Alrighty... I don't really want a "flashlight" as a PV.

Going to have to think on this a bit it seems...

Welcome Rocky and no problem lurking. Lurking is a good thing for gathering info. (or just a few laughs) Lots of very smart people here so somebody is sure to have some answers if you need them. We all know what it was like to start out or just try something new and we're all still learning and having fun doing it. Well, except maybe for Fran right now because she's having a hard time, but we'll work through it and figure it out.

Oh, Natasha, forgot to say that my IMR 14500 batteries for the Rider only take about an hour to charge. (The IMR 18350 batteries for the ProVari mini probably only take that long as well.) I've got 8 14500 batteries (I think) and rotate them. We've got Xtar and Pila chargers that each do 2 batteries at a time. Since they're always by the outlet I just stick in a battery to charge and put in a new one and I'm good to go. I did notice that I can tell when the battery is getting low because the Rider gets warm. Don't know if that's supposed to happen. You can check on how much charge is left in the battery by pushing the button which I find handy if I'm going out. I carry 2 batteries in my purse just in case.

I think the back-up comments were to have another device on hand just in case something happens to your main one. Or, in my case, I tend to put them down and forget where I left them! I have 4 different juices in my 4 different Riders and they would also be back-ups to my ProVari.

Welcome Rockymtn, definitely no problem coming into this thread. Great group of folks here that have really helped me and we all know that with vaping there are so many choices and for sure not everything will work for everyone. Always good to get multiple opinons and options.

Sounds ike you have you have figured out what works for you :)

Heh. You can lurk, or you can just barge on in and start posting like I did. This is a very welcoming bunch.
For me, after a month and a half of not being able to buy anything, my e-mail tells me to expect a delivery today!!
VAPEMAIL!! I think it's my Kanger evod that I bought after seeing the review from pbusardo. He tends to like the same stuff I do, so definitely looking forward to getting home after work today!

Hey all! I just found this, I've tried patches and lozenges but was unable to quit smoking. I smoke a pack a day. Any ideas? - WebMD Answers, and thought it would a good way to get the word out, about e-cigs. You would have to create an account to answer the question, but it's not a difficult process. I did answer, only to test the waters, so my answer isn't what it could've been.

I have never started a thread here and am totally lost as to where to put the link. Since I feel more comfortable here, I thought I'd post it here. Maybe, if one of you thinks it's worthy, you can share the link. I have posted it on my facebook page too. :)

@rockymtnrobin -- Hello and welcome! I'm pretty new myself and I can vouch that you've found some of the friendliest folks on the web. :)
@kena -- Yay for vapemail! You'll have to let us know how that kanger suits you. I have come to love pbusardo and while I don't know yet if we like the same things, i do know that he tells it straight and thorough!
@FranC -- I wish I had more experience as I haven't a clue what might be wrong. I hope you can get it worked out because that's got to be very frustrating.
mmsjs5 -- I've never been to WebMD, but that certainly sounds like a good opportunity to both help someone and get some positive info out there. I'll check that link this evening. I'm probably not the best person to post personal experience though since my introduction to vaping came so long after quitting smoking.

The discussion about backups reminds me that the Girly Pink thread influenced me while perusing there to order something from Vapor Girl. The call of the bling got me! I ordered a hammered copper eGo 1100mah battery. It looks like this:

    eGo battery Hammered Copper.jpg

I ordered an amber T2 clearo to go with it. This will be a completely different experience from the ZMax, but I've heard so many great things about the eGos that I didn't really think twice. I love the ZMax... it's beautiful and sleek but probably does qualify as a "flashlight" and the eGo will be much more convenient to take along when I'm away from home.

OK I refilled with peppermint again. I have plenty of vapor,no taste at all and after 2 short vapes I get the horrid burnt taste.

edit.Question....Does it matter if the wick is in contact with the bottom of the tank? Mine isn't.

You have it positioned right. It should be just a bit about the bottom of the tank. If it touches, it could be a source for a short - not a good think. Likewise it should be below the top of the center post so it doesn't touch the inside of the top cap.
