The answer I saw was from a poster, NOT a MD. The one that blew up in the guy's face was posted all over the internet. He allegedly tampered with a cigalike, and didn't get the result he was looking for. I have also read rumors about antifreeze being in e-juice. What they are using though is polypropylene, and not propylene glycol USP, if that makes sense. There is a difference between the two. Propylene glycol is used in hospital ventilation systems to sanitize the air, to my understanding. Propylene glycol, (medical grade) is also used in medical inhalers. If you feel unsafe vaping, then I suggest finding medical grade and DIY.

Here I go butting in...again... I see this statement all the time and it's not exactly true. PG is used as a (liquid) carrier for whatever sanitizing fluids are being used - the same is true for inhalers as far as I know (and I'm no doctor). PG is used because it has no inherent harmful properties beyond the possibility of person specific allergies, but it is not some kind of air cleaner on its own. It's just recognized as being a safe carrier.

OK... I'll go back to my cave now

Another one on the same site, with someone saying e-cigs are more dangerous the cigarettes. I HAVE CAD WITH 3 STENT IMPLANTS, IS IT SAFE TO SMOKE THE E CIGS WITH THE NON-NICOTINE FLAVORS - WebMD Answers

I wrote what I thought was a simple, direct reply and included the link to CASSA but it won't let me post it because it won't accept my email address. We have a .us at the end that some places won't recognize

@rockymtnrobin -- Hello and welcome! I'm pretty new myself and I can vouch that you've found some of the friendliest folks on the web. :)
@kena -- Yay for vapemail! You'll have to let us know how that kanger suits you. I have come to love pbusardo and while I don't know yet if we like the same things, i do know that he tells it straight and thorough!
@FranC -- I wish I had more experience as I haven't a clue what might be wrong. I hope you can get it worked out because that's got to be very frustrating.
mmsjs5 -- I've never been to WebMD, but that certainly sounds like a good opportunity to both help someone and get some positive info out there. I'll check that link this evening. I'm probably not the best person to post personal experience though since my introduction to vaping came so long after quitting smoking.

The discussion about backups reminds me that the Girly Pink thread influenced me while perusing there to order something from Vapor Girl. The call of the bling got me! I ordered a hammered copper eGo 1100mah battery. It looks like this:

View attachment 182118

I ordered an amber T2 clearo to go with it. This will be a completely different experience from the ZMax, but I've heard so many great things about the eGos that I didn't really think twice. I love the ZMax... it's beautiful and sleek but probably does qualify as a "flashlight" and the eGo will be much more convenient to take along when I'm away from home.

Wow, your eGos are beautiful! I love hammered copper and didn't know they made them or would have gotten them. I'm liking the Rider Robusts now, think they'd listen if I suggested hammered copper in those?

Janet, please do suggest it. I'm sure they'd have to admit the finish is beautiful! I would buy one! :)

Yes, thanks, I did see that it was another poster that had answered (and do know what's really in our liquids). That's really the problem. Non e-cig users are believing what the gov is saying. They don't do their own research. But, I figured, if I brought it here, we could fight the ignorance with our own responses. If this person doesn't get the truth, they are going to believe the lie.

Ridiculous stuff these people spew out of their fingers/mouths that don't know anything! Can't stand it, gotta do something about it any time I see stupid stuff written like it's fact.

This was the first I've seen this type of question/answer on WebMD. If it's not doctors who are answering then anybody can say anything. Don't they have any doctors monitoring what's going on or is it just a free for all and you just say whether it was helpful to you or not? Seems to me you could get a bunch of idiots saying yes a reply was helpful and then people will read that and think it's the truth? Am I reading the site wrong? It's not just the gov't saying eCigs are awful, it's some doctors and some in the general public that just believe vaping is bad because it looks like smoking.

That's a very pretty skin. They have some awfully nice ones. I ordered one from Vapor Skinz a few days ago that looked like snakeskin. At the time there was a discount code you could use. If you place an order and don't have a code, you might try it, it was for 30% off, which is a really nice savings. Again, this was just three or four days ago, so it may still be valid. The code was: TAKE30

That's a really valid point. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be taking any advice to heart from some random non-professional medical person. I've never used the site so I don't really know if they started out with real doctors giving the advice, or if it's always been just anybody with an opinion posting.

I agree.

Today was the 1st day that I logged onto that site. I am on their medical newsletter email list. The link was in the email I got today. I've been getting the emails for a long time and have never seen subjects like this either, that's why I clicked the link. I did see that other questions did get answered by "experts", but don't know if all questions eventually get answered by them.

I would use LR, or low resistance carto's. I like the DCT tank. It has a locking ring, and goes well with a flanged carto. Even though it is plastic, I have not had a problem using fruit juices in it. Others say they have. Could I just be lucky? One thing I haven't tried is cinnamon, but I don't know if I'd like that anyway. You could use the 3ml tank which will match the eGo the closest. BTW, you need the filler, or get a bottle that has a needle tip to get your juice into the tank.

Filling is a small learning curve. Don't get juice in the center hole of the carto, because that will flood it. I am told to use a tooth pick in the center hole to block it off. I haven't tried that myself yet, but it makes sense.

Cartomizers E Cigarette
510 U-DCTank Combo - 3ml/Mini

If you put your juice in the blue capped needle tip bottle you won't need the toothpick in the center carto hole. The needle just fits between the tank and the carto and fill er up. Mike still likes to use the needle and syringe, but I'm lazy and don't want to have to wash it out each time. I use fruit juices in my dct tanks and haven't had any problems. I haven't used cinnamon in them either, I think that's one of the big culprits for cracking the tanks.

You have to be careful with these and make sure they're not knock offs. I got 2 pretty "eGos" that died on me in a couple months. As soon as we got them we knew they were knock offs, but the wraps were so pretty! My regular 650 eGos lasted me over a year.
