Just a quick remark about straining the coffee solution: I put an unfolded handkerchief in a container, put the mix of steeped coffee grounds and PG/VG in it, and twisted the tips of the handkerchief together, thereby squeezing all the liquid out of the grounds. A lot quicker than using a paper filter. PS use the cheapest hankies you can get, they are pretty much ruined after this.
Just when you thought it was safe to order another keg, crank up the tunes, and party for another day, Bluesman shows up. Well, don't let that stop you folks, I'm in on a party.

Hey, since we are back on the coffee discussion. Has anyone thought about or tried using tea bags for the extract. You can buy them empty and cheap on Amazon - not the reusable ones... Like these - there are others -

Good morning, looks like we're fix in' to get some more rain here in central Texas. After last year's terrible drought, I never complain about the precipitation, and the bluebonnets are loving it. Going to be a nice spring for wildflowers. And another great thing is that I don't have to stand out on the porch in a driving rain to smoke a stinky!

No, I am talking about using empty tea bags for our coffee extract - it would be easier to strain - I figure pressing it, but it would take longer to soak since there would be less surface contact with the grounds, but filtering it would almost be nill... I might try to borrow a tea bag or two (waste a couple) as a test the next time I do up a brew...
Tea extract is something else I have thought about trying, but just have not got around to it yet...
If you wanted to go that route, you could cut up (or fold) a coffee filter and staple it..pretty much the same thing?

The folding of a coffee filter sounds like it would work as well. But now, that raises an interesting question. What is the difference (if there is any) between a tea bag and a coffee filter? I mean the paper or whatever material it is that is used.
