That would be problematic. It'd require a new adapter, which would be expensive to both make and purchase. The skirt itself can just slip over both the adapter and the base of the adapter, right above the trigger.

There's two pieces of metal you have to cover, the adapter and the base below it. If you wanted to just screw threads into the adapter to use a stock eGo skirt, it wouldn't work. You'd need a dedicated skirt with the eGo threads in the middle of the skirt, it would be complicated to manufacture and overall isn't as good as a cap wth a hole in it.

I suck at drawing. Imagine taking a dremel to the top of the current cap, so that there is a hole in the top of it. It would slide over the adapter. Looking at my picture, it would cover everything from the bottom of the tank (the top of the 510 adapter) to the area right above the trigger -- everything that is covered by the cap normally (except, ofc, the tank).

Hey Gary - hope you don't mind me taking liberties with your photo - but I just annotated the photo to show where I think you mean - correct me if I'm wrong - Laura

ok so a sleeve that would be square but still click on that would essentially fit over the are from magnet or shorter to where the clip would towards the button area(can be as short or long as needed so i got that as well., i got that part and i can invision it, now let me know what the purpose this is for and what the top of the sleeve would look like and why(im asking becuase im not sure what this is for exactly))

heh all they would have to do is cut the top off some caps and add a trim ring around the edge to make it finished. snaps on over the adapter before you screw in a tank so instead of the silver adapter and whatever showing the whole thing matches the body.
kinda like a painted thread cover for an ego

Thanks Laura :), I'm on my tablet and don't have an image editor on it atm. The only thing that would need fixing is you'd move the left edge of the box to the right a bit... because the cap couldn't cover that first metal "band". the stock cap doesn't cover that either. but that's okay, because it looks good with that bit of metal in between the white/purple/black anyway.

I'm not Gary, but what I think he means is a sleeve that is open at top - my only thought is if this can be done, won't it stick out thicker than the battery and not look so good? (unless it is really thin)

You nailed it :) and it wouldn't stick out further than the battery, it'd be made out of the same stuff that the cap is so it would be flush with the sides of it.

they could make them in 4 colors i guess, the 3 they have now and a ss version
would be a cool idea and passing it along

Thanks badkolo! :D

Not actually a new adapter. If you had the proper equipment you could mod the current 510 magnet adapter. Take a look at the magnet when it's removed - imagine the corners rounded down (about half way from the top) to fit into an ego skirt - that would allow fit for anything but the ego-w which would require the outer threads.

Once you had that, you could also use it to screw on a flared ego ring to cover the threads and mate up to the bottom of a 510 tank. Something like this - threads didn't show.

Except that the skirt wouldn't be square, so it would look even worse than not having a skirt :p. Unless there is a square eGo skirt out there, and there is a way to screw a square onto another square that I'm not aware of. I'm also pretty sure there are no eGo skirts that are designed for the exact height of the iTaste, and the threads on an eGo skirt are at the bottom of the skirt, where as with this method the threads would need to be at the top of the skirt. I just really don't see it working. You'd spend a lotta time drilling threads into the adapter and be left with an even uglier device.

actually yes the skirt could be square but the top wouldnt be where the connectore is but it could be made square as well but then you could use ego stuff on it

He's talking about using a standard eGo skirt afaik, not fabbing a custom one. If you were fabbing your own skirt, you could just use the "cap with the top cut off" method I suggested which would be dirt cheap to design and make and cheap to buy. No rethreading adapters or buying new expensive adapters.

Making an adapter that fits eGo stuff would be interesting but I just see it as overkill for something as simple as a skirt.

Granted, it may not be what you had in mind, but it would actually have the availability of using beauty rings, mini cones etc.

If you take a look at the attachment above, I think it could be a complete adapter for 510 and ego. From my measurements, it could possibly be done with just an additional 2mm. You could still skirt the bottom fitting too... Just an idea.

It's a good idea! At least for fitting eGo stuff on it. I don't see why Innokin wouldn't do it for that. The 2mm would mean you couldn't fit a TIDY underneath the stock cap, but if you're using the eGo threads you probably couldn't fit the cap on it anyway (and you wouldn't be using a TIDY).

I got the iTaste for backup, but I find the Tidy to be too small juicewize - like you, I'm looking for tankage!

The TIDY's should have been enough for me... I only vape 1-1.5ml a day typically, but have been vaping 3+ ml daily since getting my iTaste and Vivi Nova. Just love them too much to put them down. Went from a Riva 510 with normal attys and dripping to this -- I guess the main thing that was keeping me from using too much juice was the time/hassle it took to drip, lol.
