This has nothing to do with what you believe. Suppose the FDA came out and said that 35% of the food flavorings were being used for DIY vaping (or some other vape related eliquid manufacturing). Is that not Intended Use?
You could very well be right,at this point, none of us know for sure. But,the Intended use could go 2 different ways.Yes,our intended use is to make juice, but Tfa,Capella, etc. do not intend for their flavors to be used for vaping. In fact,at one time,it may even still be there,i haven't looked lately, but Linda, the owner of Tfa,had a disclaimer on her site stating that their flavors were not to be inhaled in any manner, and she was also asking that people stop mentioning them or their flavors in any discussion about vaping. This was a few years ago,so it may not be there now,but it definitely made the point that their Intended use was for food use only.

Agreed. However, I should probably also worry about Double RY4, as you mentioned above. That's my most used flavoring.
Same here,i use Ry4 double in 95% of my juices,so that is the 1 flavor i plan to stock up on,the rest,i feel extremely confident i can get at any time later on.

My concern the FDA could decide all flavors with PG and of VG as intended fof vaping.

Tge tyrants at the FDA need to be stopped the sooner the better.

I'd like to encourage those of you that haven't given unflavored a try to try it. It does have a slight taste though and a touch sweet. I've been enjoying it for a while now. My coils don't gunk up and lasts for months and months. My cotton yarn wick last for a couple of weeks if I don't burn it.

Can't speak for Salem, but unflavored is way better than nothing.

That would be nice. But I'm not counting on it.

Serious question: How are you storing your flavors and how long do you expect them to last?

My flavors are 70% PG 30% VG. The flavors are in the freezer
I prepped only 5-7 years max.

I see the need for an "Alternative Sources" thread...
You know, non vape related sources for :
  • Batteries
  • Wickmaterial
  • Spools of resistance wire
  • PG/VG
  • Flavorings
  • Small metric screws
All this stuff can be had from other industries where the FDA would have a very difficult tile proving "intended Use'
Winter is coming you know, sooner than many seem to believe.

Seriously, I would be willing to host a community supported database for such things if there were any support behind it.

Still using from a 4 oz bottle of CAP Vsanilla Custard V1 that has been sitting on a shelf over my computer desk for about a year. Still fine. Same with the Vanilla Whipped cream.
The rest of mine are in a fridge though. Yes they will go bad eventually and some brands/flavors sooner than others I suspect.

CAP vanilla custard v1 is one of my favorites! I love their vanilla whipped cream as well. I do plan on picking up a big bottle only because I use it alot!

Yeah, that's why i didn't mention them or Hangsen,or Inawera,as they all really seem to be geared toward vaping.Same with Flavor west,a lot of their stuff seems to be designed for vaping.Even the ones i mentioned above, all have a few flavors they brought out geared toward vaping, but they can easily drop those, and continue on as usual selling only the food flavors that they started out as.

The only problem I have with publicly listing alternate sources is that it may put a target on their back for the FDA. May be best handled through PM's if someone asks.
Good point, it wold need to be on a stand alone domain, not associated with vaping

SEE THIS AS A BASIC EXAMPLE OF WHAT COULD BE DONE....

I've had that same thought,as i'm sure they have several people trolling the different forums to try and come up with what is being used the most, etc. so they can be ready to strike at a later time.I've even wondered whether it's a good idea to be stating "I have xx amount of nicotine stashed",as if they really wanted to push things,i'm sure they could figure out who most are and how to track them down.Yes i am paranoid sometimes, but it pays off sometimes too haha.

This is a re-post......I am not siding with anyone just copied this from FDA website. Does give pause tho.

http://www.fda.gov/downloads/AboutFDA/ReportsManualsForms/Reports/EconomicAnalyses/UCM500254.pdf

According to the final Impact Analysis they even want to 'pick' our flavors.

"larger number of uniquely described flavors, recently estimated to be 7,764 (Zhu at al., 2014). The number of distinct brand-flavor variants of e-liquid could be reduced without substantially altering the variety available to consumers. For example, blueberry e-liquid might continue to be available, but the number of brands offering blueberry or the number of subtle variations of blueberry could be reduced. The majority of the compliance costs of this final rule are fixed, but a portion of the costs are variable. Most of the variable costs would be would be passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices. Any increase in prices faced by consumers as a result of this final rule could dissuade some people from using newly deemed tobacco products."

IN other words, if they pick Capella's blueberry over tpa's blueberry we have no choice if we want blueberry ejuice. So glad I DIY.

It goes on to say a whole lot more. And I agree with The Ocelot that this is how they will answer the oversight committee. This is making me sick to my stomach.
'sigh'

If the Rayon wick gets gunked up put the.
Wick under running water and tge gunk washed out in seconds.

In the Rayon wicking thread one member reported as a test he vaped 110 ml through 1 set of wicks.
Sure. 90-120ml is typical for me with rayon if I treat the coil right.
It's great stuff. @Rat2chat2 sent some about a year back and I've used nothing but
except one or two times I used cotton to try a new mix I wasn't sure I'd like

The talk about Wizard Labs is making me worry. One of my liters is from them Maybe I should buy a liter from someone else for back-up. I've never bought Vapers Tek. Maybe I should grab some of their nic.

I used Wizard for 2 years with no issues and had several friends taste testing my Developing mixes. Like E-liquids, taste is subjective. Just because one person has specific preference or dislike, it means little to what the next person finds acceptable or unacceptable.
Read open reviews for users. Look at length of time they have been using them, mention of preferences, etc.

In several cases of purchases of e-liquids from several vendors, I have had a few actually extremely BAD - unvapeable mixes - and many I just did not like.
Stormy's discontinued line used the same base in all flavors and IT was putrid to me, ruining every Flavor with the exact same rancid taste.

If concerned, purchase the Smallest available sample to try out. Just don't wait to long.

I've got a bad feeling....................
