Would anyone happen to have a pic of the orion V3? Or maybe description of changes made?

Also, my fiance wants this because it's small, but is there a larger version? Like an 18650 version?

Thanks

No pictures available yet. The orion is 18350 and 18650 in one unit.

So, after getting the GF an Orion, which was alrady bored out to 1/16th of an inch by the previous owner, I found that I do like less of a stiff draw. I kept my hole metric though, 1.5mm which is just 0.08xx of a mm under 1/16th of an inch. Its very nice. No lost flavor, and as if I wasn't getting anough vapor already from the stock hole, even more vapor. LOVE IT.

Got my DT cap yesterday, kinda wishing I would've tried a 1.5mm hole, but all I had was a 1/16" bit, but, my other orion is bored to 1/16 so its all good.

Get rid of the spring and washers. Get a second M2 nut. Gently tighten the top nut to secure the wire between the top nut and the bottom nut. Flawless firing and no more black washers and springs. (Note that the top nut is still black from when I was using it with the spring and washers, notice the bottom one is still new and shiney after two weeks of use). No more black build up. That set up is a 0.9 ohm coil.

Does anyone notice that their top nut/wahser/spring turn black? What causes this? I replaced them with new ones and they were black in less than a few tanks. I have other stainless genesis attys and none of them do this.

I had it turning black when my coils where not that good. Now for almost a month running it with a perfect setup at 1.1 Ohm they still look like new.

Crack3dOne: your insulator looks like it has melted. It should not change color and/or shape. If that happens it get's too hot in that top cap.
I had 0.9 but found out that by adjusting the coil a little it went up to 1.1 ohm. So there was a short which created the black stuff and the insulator to melt. Changed it all and now no issues anymore.

I thought it looked deformed. Thank you emonty. I'm going to place an order for a 100 of them tonight. Smallest order I could find to place for those nylon shoulder washers.

On another note, that's when I think I remember noticing it "melt". When I was having firing issues and black build up. I made a new coil and got rid of the washers and spring, and since then I don't get the super-hot top cap any more, black stuff, or firing issues.

I'm pretty sure that's arcing from a poor connection between your resistance wire and the washers, which is more so a reflection of the design of the Orion's + post rather than your coils. The best solution I've found is similar to Crack3One's, but instead of just adding a 2nd M2 nut, I went ahead and replaced the washers, spring, and stock SS nut with 3 spare brass DID nuts, which are also M2s.
