yes, I lowered my heat (went to 30 AWG, 3/4 running at 1.2 ohm), now no more issues and the batties last a lot longer

Thanks bro. Looks like I may need another wrap, or order some 30AWG. I have to admit that the heat was insane, and i enjoyed it. I could never get my Zens to run that hot for some odd reason.

Now my question is: has anyone found/searched for a ceramic insulator for this purpose? That would be perfect. No more melting.
No more melting, but look at it from a safety perspective. Also the switch will burn out if you run it too hot.. I know as I did the test :)
Besides that the delrin can be screwed down to make a better fit with the nut above.

Thanks for that insider tip. Didn't think along those lines. Used to using all mech mods for a genni style unit.

yes, but get a multimeter before anything!

I got one to prevent the melting from happening again. Just wondering whats the best method to test the ohms of the coil.

when u say delrin, do you mean the insulator?

I really love the device, and it really provides me with the vape that i prefer. Just want to prevent certain things from happening, so that I can enjoy my orion for a long time.

coils you can check by putting one of the probes of your multimeter on the positive and the other on the negative post. Set it to ohm.

yes, the insulator that goes on top of the base of the positive post

perfect, thanks for the answer. I'm guessing anything over 1.1ohms, and i shouldn't have an issue with melting.

So what did you think of their service? Lightening fast aren't they? Glad the size worked out for the shoulder washers. Perfect match?
Very fast. They UPS'd the stuff I ordered. I have to check to find out how much that cost though...

OK I checked. $5.47. Ordered Sunday night and had it Tuesday afternoon.

Received my shipment from McMaster-Carr today. I have 100 shoulder washers, and they are the correct size. Also have 125 M2 nuts, and 100 M2 washers. So I think I am set for a while... Wish the tubing I ordered for my petar K vaper was the right size :-(

Wow!!! Now you either need to buy a BUNCH of extra Orions or open a small side business for all of us! ;)

get both.
I have a zen standard and orion 2.1
I like the orion better for all day but I now have pluid in the zen which stays at home and I vape it during the evening
I still like everything about the orion but not everything about the zen.
the zen is still a great device just has its limitations in my opinion
+1. I've owned 5 Orions and 4 Zens. Still have Orion, no Zens. Speaks volumes IMHO...

I like my ZAG and Cobalt, I think they are great. I prefer my Orion most of the time, but really enjoy my Zen stuff also. Flavor is more intense in an Orion, yes... But sometimes I don't want that with some liquids. I use Zens for Hype and Pluid mostly, and blend4 occasionally. Orion is a smaller device also, which I like, but also smaller tank....
