So I have been using #500 solids in my orion for a while now with either 28 5/6 wraps or 30 4/5 wraps. vaping Pluid through it and it is a machine. However, consistently at where the top coil meets the mesh I have had #500 mesh tear like a piece of wet paper. Everything still works, until it is time to slide wick out and dry burn coil to clean it. The tear spot becomes and issue then.

Has anyone else using 500 experienced the same? Any suggestions to remedy? I was thinking to go ahead and torch/quench the wick up top one time, thinking it may stiffen and strengthen it a little.

Sup guys! Ive been playing with my orion since i woke up today. Still cant get this thing to work properly!

I already isolated the problem to the mesh. I am using the drill bit method to roll my coil and im getting spring-like perfect coils. Im using 5/6 wrap of 28awg.

Here are some pics:

I have rolled atleast 25 mesh now. Tried a couple of methods includind water quenching and juice only. I really dont know what to do next everytime i put the coil in i get top coil hotspot which i can usually work out but when i start vaping it im still getting an unstable vape and that top coil is shorting out from time to time :S.

Please enlighten me!

Try to make the centre post connection less tight

You mean push away the coil further from center post right?

Which is a good method to go with the mesh? also what size ? I just randomly cut a little piece and roll it

I was having the same problem like you and just now after trying to coil for 10 times i tried to oxidize my mesh one more time and now it works for me.. maybe you could try that? Finally i can vape in peace now ;)

Can someone tell me why i'm having lesser vapor compared to my lavatube. I notice that the smoke in more and thicker in my lavetube, but the flavor and throat hit is better with the orion. If only i could get more vapor with my orion would really make me a happy vaper lol...

Sounds like your air hole on the top cap is NOT lined up with the wick.

oh, hmmm

Is this a new wick?

If so don't fill the tank all the way (maybe 3/4th the way up) to help wicking on new wicks.

Edit: I don't have my Orion yet, I'm just going over general Genesis protocol.

Yes it's a new wick and have filled it with half a tank of juice. So maybe it needs to break in i guess?

Yes and also not tighten the nut too much. Concerning mesh I use #500 mesh 60 mm.
I oxidize it unrolled, take extra care with the sides. Then roll and give it a good burn until glowing red.
Test your mesh if it is non conductive, wrap your coil and with a depleted battery pulse until all glowing evenly.
