Just ordered 3 new v8 in leather case, one lambo and 5. pieces bully clone repairable attys from my favorite dealer on alibaba. She told me that v8 is on discount (18 usd normal, 21 usd leather case kit) because they are preparing new improved v8, it will be finished soon.
Can't wait for new version ;)

Nice setup!! I havent tried KBV yet, but I love love love Vape a Licious's STL Gooey Butter Cake! My T2 that I have runs really hot on my V8, is anyone else experiencing that? I have another one coming tomorrow with two 3.2 ohm heads (from Eric!) so I am hoping that will play nicer with the V8!

I got some of those too, to see if it runs a little cooler. I pretty much keep it at 3.0 or 3.1 w/the SR T2's for now. As soon as the head dies w/the KBV, I will try the higher res version and see how it goes. :)

Did Discount Vapers stop carrying the Ovale V8? I can't find them under the usual Variable Voltage category.

Thank you for the link, Skelley! I hope DV gets them in again. I like shopping there.

I haven't seen any for quite some time. I can't remember when exactly, but quite a few weeks ago, I went to DV to look for the pink Ovale and noticed that they didn't have any - in any color!

I asked Eric (at DV) about this today, and his response is here, in his sub-forum thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...iscountvapers-com-thread-204.html#post7281415

I hope this helps y'all out! :D

Thank you, Sonicdsl. I thought DV HAD the newer version with the built in adaptor already? I've still had no trouble with mine, except like I said, my 510 to ego adaptor comes out when I unscrew a tank or EMDCC. Like it's not staying screwed into the Ovale connector very well. But that's not a big deal at all.

Haha, of course it's supposed to screw out, but not WITH the tank! Oh well, even my 510 to 510 adaptor does the same thing on my 5v Triple V tube mod. It comes out with the tank, then I have to unscrew it from the tank and then screw it back into the mod. I've even been looking around for my adaptor, floor to ceiling, to eventually find it attached to one of my tanks on the desk, lol.

The issue is really the adaptor that maintains a tighter grip on the female end than it does on the male end. Such is life... wait what? :p

One of these days I'll just get the newer V8 version with the built in adaptor.....

Has anyone here ever taken one apart? The bottom battery connection came apart in mine last night, so I figured I'd pull the guts out and thrown them in a new casing of some sort as a project. Just wondering if anyone has any advice or tips.

Oh yes, I have taken two of them apart, one twice because the place the battery connects was pushed in, so I had to move it back and hot glue it in place. Just use a whatchamacalit to hold the metal part in straight when you use the hot glue gun, you know, people used to use them as roach clips.

Eric's tip was to use liquid electrical tape all over the guts of it, but I'm glad I didn't, because I have also had to re-solder the wires on one of them. These are an awesome design, but made el-cheapoest possible.

Oh, one more thing. There is a little notch that holds the battery metal thing in place. If it's not broken off, try to push the battery metal thing under the notch before you hot glue it. Be sparing with the glue or the door won't fit right (I learned that from screwing it up the first time)

Got it! 2 days ago! Nice matte-black finish. So far no negative issues, no wiggling connector, battery door comes off easily... I did trim off some of the length of the battery connector springs with wire cutters (a blasphemy?) so that the batteries are easier to put in/out, and...and... I love it!
So easy to use, and has now spoiled me to all my 3.7 devices (including *sniff* my Silver Bullet), how can I ever go back?

I've taken mine apart, in order to prepare it for decorating. I was surprised at how very tiny and fragile the wires are. Anyway, follow Sandy's advice to repair. One guy (near the beginning of the thread) put his Ovale V8 in a wooden BoxMod. But I think that he put the entire thing in the box as apposed to using the innards for a new mod.
