The recessed connector on the white one is an accident waiting to happen. The body of the V8 is very poorly finished in that recessed connector area. There are two big gaps (holes) where the front and back seams meet together in that recessed 510 area. All it's going to take is one accident for liquid to easily get into the body of the V8 because of those gap-holes in the recessed area on the white one.

I'm just pointing out - unfortunately - that even buying two V8's from the same vendor is no guarantee you are going to get two V8's with the same type of 510 connector. And I get the idea that, in theory, these were all made by the same manufacturer. So why are there two different versions out there, being shipped to the same resellers, with very different 510 connectors?
The pinks and blues, and the matte white and black are the newer version with the flush connector. The shiny grey, white, gold and black are the 1st g V8's and have the recessed connector.

Is it that the older V8 versions don't have the capability of displaying resistance (Ohms) and the newer ones do?

Hey Cool, welcome to the Ovale V8 appreciation society lol :p

I don't think anyone here has the latest V8 that has the ohm display. I got a notification mail from my alibaba vendor some months back, but never got around to ordering a new one. Actually I forgot about it until you mentioned it now.

I may be completely wrong through, maybe the flush version has it... If so - please chime in guys!

Nope. Not on my matte blue anyway. No mention in the instructions and no apparent way to access a feature like that if it existed.

Didn't even know this feature was on the radar for future models. Hell, we can't even seem to locate the current version!

...soon to be joing the ranks of Ovale V8 (used) owners. I vape left handed, keeping the right hand clear for the steering wheel and mouse, etc. I may move the innards into a project box (with comfortable corners).

Does someone know where I might download a User Manual?

No. And the manual you get is in 'Chinglish' and everything is so self-evident there is nothing to be discovered in there. Three buttons: Left is volts up, right is volts down, middle is power with an on/off feature. Push on/off five times to turn it off. Do the same to turn it back on. And... no wait, that's it. There is zero technical or other practical information in the manual.

I'm a leftie too and the grip contour is a non-issue. I ignore the grip altogether and just hold it so hitting the power button with my thumb is in a comfortable and natural position. (Like you would hold a box mod.) There is nothing natural about actually trying to hold it according to the grip indentations anyway. If you do that, you kind of have to push on the power button with the side of your thumb. That has neither a comfortable or natural feel to it. Just pick it up and use it and you can ignore the grip indents.

Thanks for the replies on the resistance readings (or lack thereof) and the left-hand matter. I had wondered about Ohm measuring and that's why I was looking for a manual. I later saw it was accessed by pushing both + and -.

My (used) Ovale V8 is due to arrive tomorrow.

Also can't find it in any of my V8. For accessing this function we have to press + and - at a same time.

Ok. Tried that on my matte blue and... nope, doesn't do anything. Just changes voltage up or down depending on which button you hit a microsecond sooner than the other one.

I second that the Ovale manual is Chinglish; even my good battery charger had a incomprehensible Chinglish manual ;)

Yeah, the manual gets an Insertion of the Golden Finger award. :p

Many moons ago I got a computer card with a horrible Chinglish manual. It used such phrases as "The way of connection." and "insertion of the golden finger" to describe how to install the card in a computer slot. Ever since, horribly written instructions or manuals are nominated for an Insertion of the Golden Finger award.

So I totally want the newer V8! I have said many times that the unit would be perfect if it had the ability to read the resistance of your attachment and the new one DOES!!! Just my luck that I heard about this after I got my Lambo! Lol. I do like my Lambo though. Where can I get my hands on an upgraded V8?
