Glad to see I'm not the only one with a cluttered workbench...

I end up doing the thing where I create a usable space by simply sliding siht over about a foot... Cuz thats like 30 seconds faster than actually putting stuff back where it belongs. No actual cleaning can take place until stuff starts falling off the ends of the table.

I like the "L" shape... It would definitely provide more space... but... I'm not sure how sliding 20 items at once around the bend would work out for me...

I see you also have carpet in your work area... When you drop stuff on it, does yours do the thing where it hides whatever you dropped for 24 to 72 hours... during which time it determines weather or not the dropped object is, in any way, pointy... then returns the object to a place close to where it was dropped... pointy side up?

Yep, HP Designjet 650 36" (color unit no less) for prints along with an OCE 7115 36" scanner on the other side.

All three of us were top notch state of the art units a long time ago.

Note the large round magnet on the top right back of the print scanner (to the left of the left monitor).
Mandatory for finding ferrous bits and pieces in the 60's orange shag carpet.
That thing has saved my .... many times.

i am thrilled to see such a messy desktop since i can now argue that it is a manly trait, rather than just my own idleness as HRH seems to think! What she doesn't understand is that i can actually find anything i want on my desk until she tidies up.

T

Yep, I'm going with the manly thing.
My wife gets fed up every once and a while and threatens to shove it all in a trash can if I don't clean it up.
(Fairly certain she means it so I oblige)
Till the daughter moved back in I had a whole room of manly things and I could just shut the door.
99% of my electronics gear and parts are stuffed away in boxes and shelves in another corner of the basement making it a real PITA to find anything.
