So I just got word that the large piece of stabilized wood that I got from arizonaironwood.com is too brittle for makaing the top and bottom caps for my Dibi OliveR. Pdib is going to go ahead and make the "Standard" mod with richlite caps, and hopefully everything will go smoothly.

Fingers crossed

That's a bummer, I'm also hoping for the matching caps on mine as well, have you seen his new greyish stuff? Pretty sweet. :vapor:

?............Just one question. Tightened on, my rm2 will only fire when screwed on to the point where the coil in facing the button. Tried multiple washers and any that keep it firm in the 12 I clock position don't allow it to fire. Any suggestions?

Took a cut off disk in the dremel and sanded down the center post a bit, and went around the base of the 510 sanding it down a little also on my LP RM2. That took care of the out of line aspect, but I can't seem to get a good vape out of it, even though the voltage seems good at the posts. I think I might have a batch of magic that is missing its magic part, although it looks fine. Got an regular RM2 with an older batch of magic on it till I can investigate further.

Oh, as long as I'm rambling . .. . has anyone ever tried this? (we used to do this with the cheap DID clones . .. the screw on cap would never align the airhole). Put some sandpaper on a flat surface, and set the cap on it. Sand it a little (little circular motions, keeping it set firm and flat against the paper). Check to see where it spins to now. Sand some more, check, sand, check. You can probably get about 100-180° of airhole location adjustment just like that. don't forget, the airhole is gonna move clockwise, always seating a little further in the spin.

oh, we used to do that with the early AGA-Ts too, I think.

Been thinking about this and looked at an RM2, plenty of extra threads that sit above the drip well when the cap is on. I have one that the hole lines up with the drain hole. so I could spin it 330 degrees to center it between the posts. As a bonus I would be making the chamber smaller and might get some better flavor. It's a project on the list.

a thought crosses my mind: re-check your metal drip tips for +post clearance in there

Hmmm interesting thing I noticed.... While my milled rm2 has that flat head screw part in the pos pin at the bottom.... My unmilled does not.
Oh and the metal disk under the ceramic doesn't come out.

good to know. So, the more recent batch of Triangles are different . . ..

Is there no screwdriver slot in the exposed bottom of the 510+pin?

Nope. Looks more like a 510 disposable. Hole through the center of a post, insulator surrounding it. It's recessed now so I must have screwed it further in somehow- or pushed it in, I guess

that sounds like a recipe for a short. It's the neg. post on the deck that forces everything down. The neg. post has a shoulder that bears down on the ceramic (which dictates the height/length of everything). Try screwing that neg post in further (without breaking or stripping it, mind you).

As long as we're on the topic of my personal pho-buck storage capacity reaching it's "free" limits.

I really hate pho-bucket, and would probably burst a vein in my neck if I had to pay for it's slouchy, spotty, unresponsive, slow services. Can anyone recommend a good photo server for storage and online sharing?

Good idea on the RM2 trimming, Mundy. At first I thought you were talking about the Mod . . . . .. trimming centerpost, etc.

So, is the older batch of twisted wire hitting ok? Is this a new spool? Could it be different specs? Weird.

Same 500' roll. Gonna pull an older coil out of another one and try it when I can. That will let me know which direction to look.
