Sirius, my good man. The burl I use is not from a stabilizer. It's from a nearby park.

If you should choose to go the route of added expense and the risk of purchasing special material and then having me break it by accident and say only this :p to you . . . . .. . well, then, I would recommend this guy. He's proving to be a top quality source. You can also ask him questions via his email about particular blocks and their suitability for my mods.

Perhaps, perhaps not. I have a variety of woods, in-house, from which I make bodies. Those will have black Richlite (Wiki it) caps. That's yer Standard Mod.

You can buy your own body materials (stabilized, say) at your own added cost and risk. (if it proves unsuitable or if it doesn't make it through the manufacturing process, it's your loss).

You can also, if you provide sufficiently strong, resilient, sturdy stabilized, go with the Custom Matching option; where I make the caps and the button of the same material.

Price quote in PM plz.. For total build w/maple burl.
And I wouldn't be against the bottom being brass either! ;)

I should also mention, my friend Sam is just about done gearing up to do drip tips for us. I may actually be sending some material from this run#2 to him. Don't want to make promises on someone else's behalf (so, grain of salt and whatnot); but I think he's setting up a website too. (Lordy, strike me with lightning if I overstep or misspeak.)

Cool! Look forward to seeing his tips!

So, they're doing solid wood over there? Aren't those a tad fragile?

(I turned a handful of wood tips, just for kicks, a while back.)

Sure are! And some stabilized ones too. Want to see something stunning, search "segmented" in their thread. Doug is a master wood craftsman by trade. Started doing tips when he and Kayte started vaping. I have about 15 of their tips.

Segmented tip I liked.

ooooh, you guys, I just checked my link ↑ . . .. he's got some cool stuff on the homepage! quartersawn maple burl, as of 2/15. I want one like that!

He told me those are too small based on the sizes you needed. He'll be adding more maybe later in the week.
