Bam in for #2!

And out of curiosity, could I possibly form a spacer or extension for the bottom contact to use an 18500 battery? I'm trying to swap my reo's for mini2.1's and then I'll be converted fully to 18500 and 18350 instead of all 3.

Or are you planning on making and 18500 mod pdib?!

Couldn't you just add a kick to it? You can to a 18650 REO woodvil and it's a 18500 (just tried it today)

are you hoping it works? or just using it as a spacer? what are you grounding it to?

It does work. But I only own 1 18500 battery and it's a Trustfire (freebie with my 18 Arhat kit), so I didn't get to vape it long. Plus, I didn't want to mess with the VW setting on my kick.

The kick is the VW controller PCB from my KTS2 mod in my coop, and it fits perfectly. Here, took a quick phone pix:

I have no idea what I'm grounding anything to... the battery? It's just stuck on top, positive to positive, and it works and it's regulated. But I don't own any 18500 batteries cept that cruddy one, so it's not like I can test it real well...

Did I mention I have a mental block about electronics and was waiting for it to seep in by osmosis? All I know is, don't stick the kick in upside down, and make sure the blue part is pointing away from the spring part. It all works (I define 'works' as in it vapes fine):).

**EDIT: It does NOT vape fine. After I typed that, I decided to put it back in and make sure... and it vapes very lousy. As in, barely any vapor compared to the 18650 battery. Could be the setting, I have no idea how to set it, and as my kick works fine with my 18 Arhat, I don't want to mess the setting up (because there are no numbers on the VW setting).

Also, I don't own a volt meter, only an ohm meter, which is why I made a coop for it... I needed one myself:). (running it now in Active Coops section if anyone is interested).

As for palladium screws, I can't find a price, but I found screws... dental appliances:p.

I would start by asking these guys: http://www.deringerney.com/products-and-capabilities/

But this is what the palladium screws look like: http://www.deringerney.com/products-and-capabilities/medical-materials/machined-dental-implants/

Speaking of ash, vaping in volcanoes, horse dungin's, golden hay, and screwing gently; sometimes y'all are kind enough to inform others as to where things are at over here (with the list and stuff). To that end, I just wanted to mention that run#14 has a couple slots left in it; and I'm soon rolling into telling folks they're in run #15. (couple more people and then . .. ).

I'm thinking of trying something. I'm thinking of doing a few more mods per run. I've been observing what it is that happens in the course of a batch, and I've come to realize that I may not be able to go much faster; BUT I think I can go MORE-ER. Meaning, I think I can do about 13 mods in just a few days more than I can do 10. So, instead of 10 mods in 3 weeks (which is stubbornly proving to be a month), I'm thinking 13 mods in a month. (do the math . . .. I did . . . it's fun)

So, what does this mean, to fine folk like you and me? Basically, on account of a few folks dropping out in run#3, I'll be doing the rest of 4 and half of 5 in the next batch. And then rest of 5 and ALL of 6 in the batch following. (Mid~Late April starts run#4/5 and Mid~Late May starts run#5/6 . . .. I'm thinkin'). If 13 mods/run proves reasonable, I'll rejigger the designations starting with #7 and on up and report back at such time. (basically, there will be 13 peeps in run#7, 13 in #8, 13 in #9 . .. . and some folks will find that they're in an "earlier" run)

That is all.

Peace out.

Love.

and chitlin's.

:p

Aaaand now you've got me thinkin about Dibi #2

My other BeCu parts have been holding up great (not make/break contacts; but other contacts). I haven't been able to find a ready source for something like a BeCu 8/32 Machine screw tho. I would be very curious to see how something like that would hold up (sans plating).

. . . .. .or one could just buy a year's supply of brass 8/32 machine screws for like $10 at the local hardware store . . . .. swap 'em and drop 'em . . . .not sayin', just sayin'

So, are you saying drop 'em when they get tarnished cause of loss of conductivity? I clean the brass bits in the Touchwood with glass cooktop cleaner and an old toothbrush and it works great. Couldn't you give the brass screws a quick once over and reuse them?

Take a look at the little bitty gold looking spring loaded contact in this picture on the left side by the big blue thing. That has to touch ground for it to work. In the tube mod it does since the tube is ground, but in a wood or non tube mod not so much. BTW, always put the battery in with the negative side down away from the module (you should anyway for other safety reasons in a metal tube) or it might let the magic smoke out.

If the 18500 is fully charged, and you're not sub ohming, then just play around with the settings. I would turn it a bit until I get my desired vape.

i was at the dentist's last week and i must say i am in no great rush to go back there regardless of what screws he has. "Hey Greg (i'm sure his father couldn't spell George), when are you going to get a decent 3d printer to print me more teeth?"

btw, those implants are $$$$, so the winner right now looks like disposable brass screws for the Dibi and more flossing for me!

I don't need any lead time on it. If I'm posting pics, and someone hasn't already mailed a 2 day priority package for the next run .. . . .that someone might want to grab the car keys and head for the P.O. (preferably the P.O. with the wormhole). I won't hold up a run for a late block; but i'll be happy to put it in the very next run.

I've started my search...I'm looking for ambrosia maple. :2cool:

Me personally? I'm experimenting with having a handful on my vape bench, swapping out when I feel like it (20 sec. during battery swap), and throwing the "used" ones in a little dish. Then, when they've accumulated, tossing them all into the Pickle (2pts Vinegar, 1pt Hydrogen Peroxide) for 10 min. and then calling them resurrected.

i suppose i can grudgingly fit that into my weekly clean and re-coil routine. And use the liquid on my fish and chips on a Friday.
