Uh... what? If the current negative at the bottom of the woodvil is sufficiently grounded, and all I'm doing is running that negative up with a piece of copper or silver to the ground button on the pcb kick so it's grounding too... and it's a given that the kick works because it works perfectly in a metal mod already... then what does atomizer grounding have to do with it? The atomizer is working fine now, so why would it not work?

Short answer: If sufficiently grounded no problem.

Long answer: Prerequisites are calc1, calc2, calc3, physics1, physics2, differential equations, basic electronics, solid state device theory, solid state device application, introduction to power electronics, DC circuit analysis, and AC circuit analysis...........or having stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Problem I have with acetic acid and peroxide is I can see some oxidation type cleaning while it's fizzing, but after that it's pretty much just salt water no?

Edit: ignore me, I confused acetic acid with sodium bicarbonate. Carry on

Acetic acid = vinegar, sodium bicarbonate is baking soda, a base. That's roughly 5 pH vs 10+ pH. In factors of 10, that's a big difference. It's Vinegar with Baking soda that would heat and fizz from neutralizing. The REALLY bad is vinegar with chlorine bleach which releases chlorine gas.

Vinegar with baking soda will make a nice fizzy bath. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is a weak acid, combined with vinegar, another weak acid, would not be chemically reacting.

Um... been years for me, but my 18 year old actually finished all college level calc and physics already (started in 10 grade AP pre-calc and physics through 4 years of each including college), and I can tell you that those are not necessarily related subjects. He's probably as dumb about electronics as I am. And I don't need him to tell me that none of that is related to Holiday Inn Express!!

Since i saw an errant email mentioning "streamlining production" from someone that cannot make a paper hat float in a straight line i shall be there. The possibilities for ridicule are too good to let pass.

When I was employed by others at my last job (almost 20 years) I had to bite my tongue in almost every "management" meeting.
I would look around the room and see all my favorite Dilbert characters represented at least once.
Having known the "pointy haired boss" since 1997 probably saved my job a few times.
Course in my version, the pointy haired boss was married to catbert.

If a person doesn't understand the underlying math and physics it is difficult at best to go beyond repair technician in electronics.
Course I also ran into many EE grads that wouldn't be able to make a good solder joint if their life depended on it.
I never finished school because I was enjoying alternative realities too much at the time.
Maybe I should have went to silicon valley, way I understand it there were a lot of alternative realities going on there back then.

yes, indeedy. i went from hanging out in haight-ashbury in the 60's to working for Atari in silicon valley in the early 70s. there wasn't really much of a difference

What for more school? You seem to have done great. As for the solder joints vs design, they are different and unrelated things. My son is so strong in the sciences and math, it's unbelievable. He is gifted beyond words, NASA award winner ... guess what he wants to be? A linguist.
