I'm glad to see people being creative and adding their own personal touches to their mods. I don't think anyone buys a house and doesn't personalize it, or buy a car and not put their own music in the stereo, right?

Got the new spring and brass screws today. It may be my imagination (but I don't think so), but Olivia does seem to be hitting better. Not a lot, but better.

I am one of the people that use the set screw. Before installing it, I had to fiddle with Olivia a lot to get her to fire. It was like - fire, fire, fire, mis-fire...fiddle...fiddle...fire, fire, mis-fire...etc. With the set screw in there, Olivia is fiddle-free.

Oh, and that isn't my wood either, but if it isn't claimed by the time round 8 comes around, you can use it for my OliveR #2.

I had a similar experience on a VW forum. So I added a quote in my sig line from another member that experienced the same thing that I thought summed it up pretty good: "The original German engineers have attained sainthood and it is impossible to improve perfection. I assume that's stabilized? It might not matter then; but the darker part is probably also the denser part. . .. .
