LOL! No:)... I think the way the toggle worked was that BOTH the silver tip AND part of the brass screw were touching the bottom of the battery, so it had more stuff touching the bottom of the battery, making a more solid connection? I don't know...

I just put the original silver screw, button, spring you had on there back on... and it's hitting consistently now...:blink:

It's still way stiffer than my toggle tho.

GG, I sniped about 4mm off the spring and spun the nut up a little higher. Now it's easier to press and doesn't have to travel as far.

So while camping occasionally it wouldn't fire. I didn't spend a lot time on diags, if I'd pop the top or bottom it would fire. When I got home I pulled the button apart cut a little off the spring cleaned off all the noalox, hit all the contact surfaces in the button, both battery contacts and the both contacts for the center rod with deoxit. I also shortened the button throw by spinning the nut so more of the silver stuck out. Haven't had a problem since.

This thing is great! A cabinet maker who's not a vapor look at it and was very impressed. To quote "damn he's good to drill those holes with the grain and not have the bit walk is amazing."

I'll try that!!! I don't have a natural wood mod, since mine's stabilized and dyed, but the holes look really clean and well done to me too. But it FEELS so good in the hand, that's the best part:).

I'm glad you're experimenting, glass. That's how you'll make it yours, by knowing it. One thought, if you wanted to put in the bottom cap set screw for a short while, it would lessen the number of question marks. Things that feel like button problems can be telegraphing from/to the other end.

Ok, I put the screw in the bottom for now... will see how well it works for a day or 2. Just want to say that while I'm having some problems, they are minor problems. I CAN make it work, it's just how to make it work optimally.

Put the old button back, WITHOUT the silver screw, WITH the new spring... hits every single time (even better than my toggle).

So the problem was the angle of the silver insert screw... it's only touching at the very tip because it's not flat... so it's a hit and miss connection:).

One end of my silver screw is flatter and smoother than the other end. See if yours is the same and if reversing the screw helps (flat & smooth towards the battery).

Mine was the same. I originally put it in backwards and firing was intermittent. Put in it the other way and it has fired perfectly since I did it.

nooo.... I fixed it, it wasn't working right:p.

Wut? I just fixed the problem..

But... it works better than your button... why?

No... I like knowing how/why things work... :p

Ohhh ... head hurts after reading 6 pages straight. Give me a break guys (or don't, I am sitting overtime at work, and for some reason it feels worth money earned more than doing actual work).

Congrats for the guys who got the dibi's they look amazing. When is run 6 due? (or run 7 I can't remember where I am anymore).

In 2 hours, i will begin celebrating the 14th anniversary of my 21st birthday... Oh yeah, one year without a single stinky stick as well.

Would be too perfect if The simian were to arrive tomorrow, but me thinks that is wishful thinking!

Happy anniversary, may you receive your simian safe and sound ...
