Ok I read the first 10 pages of this thread and the last ten.... am I required to read the other 9500 posts to get on the waiting list for one of these masterpieces?

Nope. pretty sure you hit all the pertinent stuff . .. .

well . . .. except for where Dennis admits that he's stark raving mad and asks me out on a date . . . . .

If you want to feel more or less informed, you could check this little tiny blip-thread out . .. .

pdibb said it would be ok for me to go off topic a bit.
I am a long term smoker (30+ years).
Only ecigs I have tried were the Blu e-cigs from the grocery store.
They were fine when in places I could not smoke but don't seem to be a viable replacement for the Marlboros.

Any suggestions of what else I should try?
Not into tinkering with a complicated unit. Just thinking there must be something better than what I have tried so far.
I enjoy smoking. I like the taste and smoking is part of my daily routine. I don't smoke indoors but enjoy taking a walk and smoking with coffee in the morning, after a meal or when I take a break at work. Now if there was something that combined the nicotine and the caffeine.......

Well I would love to say get a Dibi, but that's a big step to take. My advice to you?

2 ego 1000 mah twist batteries.
Vision aurora bf ( it's a "topper")
A bottle of unflavored nic juice from mtbakervapor.

Does anyone else agree? This would have been a great starter for ME at least.

It's pretty much impossible to get the taste of burning tobacco in an e-liquid... but for me naturally extracted tobaccos e-liquids have come the closest and are pretty much all I vape at this point. This thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ussion/519685-natural-tobaccos-part-deux.html has a ton of info and the regulars that post there are happy to answer questions.

As far as a device... I'm guessing you have at least some interest in bottom fed mods since you are posting in pdib's thread. And since you have to get on a long waiting list for one of his, you might check out a Reo. Reos Mods The community over there is unbelievably helpful.

Unflavored might be a great place to start... I've never tried it, but I have heard several people say it's comparable to a light cigarette.

Sorry MoN, I'll have to disagree. :)

I went from cigalikes straight to one cheap bottom feeder ($30) to test the BF waters then sprung for my first REO about 3 years ago. I don't believe I missed a thing by not going the step up batts and clearos (or whatever all those types are called) route. I think I saved money by jumping right in to good stuff once I saw the potential (with the cheapie) and a helluva lot of frustration.

If MFarley is here asking in a pricey bottom feed forum, I would think he has ideas already. ;)

Hey cat, I agree, but the aurora is a bottom feeder topper. I agree hell probably love the reo. Just saying a way to test the waters- it's a pretty good one. If he's looking into bottom feeders as a true mod- box and all- definitely go the reo route. Or even the vmod can be good for a ( short ) while. He'll even the boge revolution. Lol I'm just trying to steer him toward bottom feeding- because it's the ONLY way to go my dear : D

My thoughts were to try something similar that I could get right away.
Then if it works out for me, get on Peter's list for a nice unit.
I am real new here on the forums so I don't understand the lingo yet.
But I am trying to do some reading so I can eventually speak the same language.

Head to the Reo forum. I'm telling you the good folks over there will help you every step of the way... AND if for some reason you decide it's not for you Reo's retain there value very well and you would be able to sell it without losing much money.
