Awesome stuff!!

I've been lurking here periodically but usually don't stick around long enough to comment because a grown man seen drooling is typically not considered acceptable in polite company.

I don't think it's limited to drooling for a lot of folks that frequent this thread...

same here man, green is not my thing but the green dibi's always look awesome... that one looks really sweet
Yeah, but I'm thinking green might be some sort of infatuation on my part, so I seriously doubt I would order a green one. OTOH, having recently seen pics of a phat one-off regulated bottom feeder made or ironwood, I'm really thinking I'm going to attempt to convince Peter that he should give that a whirl. :D

yeah ironwood is nice, it's so hard that it literally polishes up to a smooth shiny glass like finish but it is hard on tooling and it's prone to cracking, gotta try not to heat it up too much while working it and have good sharp tooling but I think it's better to work with than snakewood which is really hard to work without cracking. the wood is very expensive and hard to work but the results are stunning, def one of my favorite woods so far :)

My gut instinct is to pick the hardest woods... but over time, I'm beginning to realize that the harder the wood, the more it's like stone... shatterable/splinterable/chippable. Softer woods seem to be more giving and bend rather than break. So I'm now starting to prefer softer woods. I mean if I wanted super hard mods, the way to go would be glass, and that never really tempted me because of the breakability.

That's why i have internet at work! HRH assumes she has perfect knowledge of what i look at and plan. How refreshingly naive! :)

i watch a lot of the reviews for all kinds of mods and atties, but until i'm convinced they offer a genuine improvement on the gear i have already - i just waste my money on cookery gear for HRH, scoring brownie points along the way.

So the fine folks at Reosmods finally have a Grand in stock their site in a finish that appeals to me -- plain black anodized. And Redskymods has some African mahogany cruises available too.

Can you guys PLEASE talk me out of buying either or both of these as beater/backup bottom feeder while I'm waiting for my second dibi?
