Very nice lookin pair of Dibi's ya got there! What protective sleeves you talkin bout anyways? Got a link?

No links. Mine were hand made by a duo of very kind ecf folk. They weren't designed for the dibi. They were disigned for another mod but they fit the dibi perfectly and alls I had to do was cut a hole for the dibi squonk position. Here is one of them:

The vocal part of ECF! I'm working on the trickle-down effect, since most of the improvements i got to mine, i got after ownership. Spring and solid silver pin etc.

2pak - i took one look at the centre pin on an Atomic and decided that maybe only DZ could drill that, so dremel the next one!

Kyogijudo - i have no idea why coffee cups like maces appeal to anyone that isn't married. HRH wants one - but she wants a lot of things.

I am married...to The Evil One and you know how those types love their weaponry. ;)

homeboy's SUBbin' . . . .. :D
Yeah, I had that coil in there for the last 2-1/2 months, and was pretty happy with it until I started playing with CC rayon this weekend. Well, in my first attempt at using it, I took the "use twice or more times as much as you'd use cotton" advice from early in that thread to heart, but it turns out that was too much. Then late on Sunday night I neglected to squonk and got a nasty dry hit, from which the wick never fully recovered. So the next morning, I pulled it out, put fresh rayon on there and vaped on. But I noticed that the only place the rayon was charred was at the very top end of the wick. So I asked myself: "Self, why are you using a coil that's mounted at 30 degrees (or maybe a tad more) from horizontal, which will never feed well from both ends?" Why not re-coil this thing more the way SXD does it, with the coil totally horizontal?

But I also remembered pdib's advice that nichrome kicks [censored]. And I remembered I ordered some way back then but never tried it. But for whatever stupid reason, I ordered 28 rather than 26. OK, if 26 nichrome kicks 25 Kanthal, them 28 nichrome oughta be better than 27 Kanthal, and might even be close to 26 Kanthal, right? Wrong. 1.15 ohms. I vaped it all day. That might work OK in Kayfun on a DNA mod (I'll have to try it sometime) but in the Cyclone on my OliveR, it was decidedly "Meh". So I made another 26 gauge Kanthal coil, mounted it horizontally, and at 0.80 ohms (which is just a tad more than that last 26 ga coil) my dibi is vaping better than ever. :D

Yes, I know, SXD won't approve of the long tail wrapped around the back of the atty, but I can always cut it off. I'm still experimenting with this rayon wicking. But I think the real moral of the story is:

There's something addictive about SUBbin'

As soon as I heard his was shipping, I had to add myself again. I think Peter is about to be a very, very busy man. My second is probably about a year out. Life is just not fulfilling if you have nothing to look forward to, my life is very fulfilling right now :)

About to be a busy man? What is he now?

I've got something sorta like that. It showed up unsolicited when I traded a Sophia for a TF AFC Cyclone. I'm not sure who made it. It was originally intended for a REO, so the squonk hole is in the wrong place but it fits fine and it's flexible enough to squonk through the material, or it would be trivial to enlarge the hole:

But I basically don't use it. It detracts from the sensuous feel the OliveR is famous for, and I much prefer riding her bareback.

However, I think the concept of some kind of holster has merit. I'd like one that would clip into my shirt pocket. I've dropped my OliveR in the dirt a couple of times. For some reason, that keeps happening when I'm picking up shell casings. Thankfully, no damage has been done so far.

That sorta reminds me.. Has anyone else tried both the standard Cyclone cap and the AFC cap on the same build, back and forth? It seems to me that even when the AFC's airflow/draw is adjusted to be the same as the regular cap's, they vape quite differently..

Amy I nuts to prefer the regular cap?

The original cap has a smaller chamber which does vape differently, I get more flavor with the standard cap. Doesn't mean your not nuts but they do vape differently :D

Like B2L said the AFC is bigger... taller actually which works out well for dual coils but lacks in flavor for single coils when compared to the standard cap.
