Everyone has some pet theory why everything we do is bad. Pick a wicking material and someone has a reason why we shouldn't use it; doesn't matter whether it's silica, ceramic, stainless steel, cotton, or rayon; it's all bad! Pick a resistance wire material and there's a theory why we shouldn't use that. Somewhere I read that the plastic bottles we're squonking our juice from are bad. Then there's the juice itself. Yeah, we know what's in it -- if we vape unflavored -- otherwise all bets are off.

Keep worrying about this stuff and it will drive you to drinking, or worse yet, back to smoking.

"I quit smoking by vaping but everyone told me is was so awful I went back to smoking to eliminate those toxic things that are so very bad for me..."

Awwww, looky what just popped up in my FB feed today, apropos to this conversation.

Five myths about the chemicals you breathe, eat and drink

Just save that link and reply with it every time someone goes all Nature Fundamentalist.

Edit: the chart in that linked article is priceless, a veritable treasure trove of "shut up and stop worrying so much" contradictions.

On the diacetyl note, someone posted a link saying that the cause of those popcorn workers having lung disease was not proven to be directly from diacetyl because they a history of some sort (smoking maybe?) I forgot who or where I saw that link.

Anyway all what said before is 100% true. Go look at real homeless people and how they die of natural causes but living all their life eating bad food and breathing the most polluted air in the world. are we all healthy people drinking water from the source and eating chicken that we breed ourselves? I don't think so. For what it's worth, people living in the city should have a life span of half of people living in the village.

It was the fact that the people who designed the test never asked if anyone smoked or not and in reevaluating the test responses found that smokers breathed in 300+ppm diacetyl from the cigarettes themselves before even breathing the additional 20-50ppm of diacetyl at work in food production. Thus the results from the test are invalid IMO. Again...bad science!!!

ETA: my doctor said living in downtown Denver equaled a pack a day of cigarets in damage and toxin ingestion...also, studies have shown that smokers who live in Beijing, China are healthier than the non-smokers as they are sucking in toxic smoke, but at least it's filtered...

Guys I will be the first one to get this Ti wire, I will let you know how it coils how it heats and how it tastes.

Very cool! I'm not against Ti wire, I am against the bad science. I would imagine it would take longer to heat up and be less responsive to coiling but it would last FOREVER!!!

Funny how toasters with their nichrome elements never really caused any harm... or did they but toast appealed to many more than vaping so its ok? Or was there no financial gain to damn the toasters? All this is bad that is better stuff is unfortunate. Yes vaping is probably not as good for your long term health but smoking was/is worse according to information we have. All I know is I smoked alot of cigs/cigars and kept going back no matter what I tried or how I quit. Vaping however, is the only thing that has kept me away from burning tobacco and inhaling it. Will I vape forever? Don't know, but I do know now at this point its keeping me from smoking and I am enjoying it very much. So :vapor: :D

Anyway... I want that dibi atty! lol looks nice and I'm excited to try one out when they hit the streets.

Oh and Rene 41 is 3% Titanium soooo thats got to be better for me right? I mean Titanium is the magic metal that makes everything better right? Back story there is my brother recently graduated college for mechanical engineering and titanium is considered a poor choice by many engineers for many things, yet its chosen often for the wrong reasons. Ok, I'll quit being a smarty pants and go back to work. :p

SO TRUE!!! No one gets out alive!!

 It is ironically true that our first breath at birth begins our death sentence. We kid about it but some people go through life constantly thinking about it and that can make it arrive even faster. I know someone like that and I remind them all the time to enjoy it while you can.

But enough about all these negative things. I just got my tracking # for my Dibi so the party begins....

 interesting...

Doing a google search I only found TiNi wire for welding available for 29 gauge. Ti was only listed for 10 gauge as the smallest size listed...google fails me!!

100% there with ya MKR. I'm not against Ti wire as a possibly better alternative for making coils, just against bad/no science.

It's only 3% less bad for you than kanthal, but I can't tell you why right now, so just go google it....

Must be an adoption going on here!

Eh... I'm not interested in welding with either kanthal or Ti wire... I want to vape on it!

Considering that where I am right now is one of the most polluted places in the world (to include the world's highest rate of free-floating fecal matter)...

I'm in no way concerned with my vape wire.... My juice aside, i am quite literally inhaling poo all day, every day.

I'm not against Titanium wire either for the record, but I do raise an eyebrow anytime that material pops up now. I'm all for a better vape, a healthier vape, but I'm not buying hype any more... or trying not too at a minimum. :D Now with all the potential money to be had in this vapin industry, one has to assume any recommendation for a product is for profit. Paranoia? maybe, but I have a box full of crappy vape gear to back up my gruffness towards new better faster things.

Just had a chuckle remembering when I was deployed to Kandahar. There was a giant open cesspool/open air sewage treatment facility there, and we called it Poo Poo Lagoon. God help you if the wind was blowing the wrong way, because you'd know it REALLY fast.

What's worse is that before I got there (I was there back in '06, and I don't know how long before I got there this happened), someone tried to commit suicide by driving a HMMWV into one of the pools to drown themselves (or so I was told). Apparently it was too much even for them, and they got out, but a dive qualified pararescueman (PJ) had to dive in to ensure there was no one else in the vehicle. Or at least that's how the story went as it was told to me LOL.
