you know, for someone who swears they're not a modder, here you are cutting and sanding, stabilizing woods, buying sanders, hell, alls you need now is a drill press and you might just be a full blown modder gal![]()
Oh heck no... with a 4" x 36" stationary Rockwell belt sander, it still took forever to grind each block to the wood and the only thing I was doing was removing a few mm off each face. Honestly, after doing that, I learned a lot of appreciation for what pdib (and you too) go through with those mods! Not to mention the sawdust and the MESS to clean up... omg.
Hubby had a drill press already... but I am no way ready to make them myself, because beyond the wood there's more to it, and it's not just drill a couple of holes either. Just the wood is messy, stinky and takes a lot of time worth of focus (while making the mess and breathing the stink). I'm just one of those people who like to actually get an idea of how things are made... doesn't mean I want to make everything myself.
Turbo.. how long did yours take just to shape the wood out of curiosity? (and you aren't doing the whole CA thing either, which in itself is tricky).
