Rossum -- Titanium is where the color titanium oxide or titania, it is a naturally occurring oxide of titanium chemical formula TiO 2. When used as a pigment, it is called titanium white or Pigment White 6 as I have know and used it. I doubt I would want coils putting off Pigment White 6 lol :D

Yeah, we use TiO2 as a coloring and an opacifier in glazes...Not sure I would want to vape that...

i saw someone else perform a similar test on uk vapers with similar results. It is not something i will rush out to buy, not least because i am not sure as to how it's graded.

I'll take my chances with kanthal and silica and so on, but i'll not deliberately go out of my way to use something that looks like more trouble than it's worth. Also, that is a rough looking coil worthy of one of my better efforts, but i imagine that Rossum usually makes close-to-perfect microcoils and that was not possible.

You mean this one? While I will admit that 30 gauge titanium is not the easiest thing to make a nice coil with, that particular coil looked much better at one point. However by the time I took that photo, I had used tweezers in an attempt to pull it apart in order to try to prevent turn-to-turn shorts. That's when I noticed the white oxide flaking off and decided to take the picture. :D

Lest my reputation be tarnished (or is that oxidized?), I just re-coiled one of my Cyclones; it had 28 gauge nichrome in it at about 1.05Ω, which I've replaced with 26 gauge Kanthal at around 0.9:

Wow! That definitely looks better than the last revision. I like the options for the sleeve. :) The copper looks nice, but will it discolor from the heat of the atty? I noticed the copper ring around my drip tip has started to discolor. Probably it's because it seems to be only plated?

OH, so I shouldn't spend an hour or two of this Sunday turning a drip tip for the Nuppin'? (JK . . . . .. . I am anyway :p)
What is that saying?......photos or it didn't happen.

Just teasing you Peter even though I enjoy seeing WIP photos.

While we are on the topic of drip tips, I have a rather long winded question.
Bear in mind this is coming from a fng.
Sometimes when drawing on the Reo I get a hot hit. Just enough to make me jump a bit.
and...sometimes both hot and a bit of juice.

Would a longer drip tip prevent or diminish the hot hits?
If the inner bore of the drip tip was larger at the end next to the atty, then the top half of the tip a smaller bore, would the excess juice get stopped where the step from large to small bore occurs? (not sure if I am making sense)

If the answer is yes to these do you know where to get something like that?
or....could you make one? I have a birthday coming up in October so you'll have plenty of time.
I already know what I will be getting for Christmas.

Well, I did put in a suggestion for a non spit back style drip tip for the "nuppin", but I guess it is not feasible at the price point that they are shooting at. Wouldn't help with a "hot" hit though.

To me as a new vapor when I read " a non spit back style drip tip" I thought it was something to prevent saliva from running down into the atty.

Ahem... just to clear that up LOL.

"Spit back" would be referring to the ejuices on the coil/wick "spitting" and popping, most notably up the drip tip itself. I have had ejuice pop though, and shoot out the side air intake before on my RM2's. Either way, it's not pleasant having hot ejuice land on bare skin, anywhere.

Ok, now everyone, get your head out of the gutter :p

For me hunting was always about the dogs and training them to fine tune what they were bred to do, my weapon of choice was a camera. We rarely killed anything although occasionally the guys would and I understood that it was necessary. The majority of the time we would praise the dogs, take pictures and leash them up and go home happy. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it a lot.

At the time I was the first female UKC licensed bench show judge in the state and at one show a couple of the guys were complaining about my judging, while we were talking about it one said "how can you judge the dogs fairly if you have never been out in the woods hunting and watching the dogs as they do their job"? My response was "well then let's go" I went out the first time to gain credibility with the houndsmen but I fell in love with the sport. It didn't change my judging much at all but I did gain the respect of the hunters and instead of questioning my choices on the bench they began to listen to what I had to say.
I also got in pretty good shape walking some nights 5 to 10 miles in the woods, that was probably the best time of my life.

I like everything about it (the woods, the hiking, the dogs!) except the part where an animal dies. I'm just a soft-hearted weirdo I guess... I can't eat a steak if someone reminds me that it was a cow. Pretty sure I'm not completely alone in this though - otherwise we would call it "cow" instead of "beef." No one wants to think about the fact that what they're saying grace over and about to shove in their gullet was walking around recently, and most likely had big pretty eyes and a personality. Maybe even a soul?

Point is, I'm just no good on a hunting trip. I'm great on a camping trip though as I can pitch the tent, make camp, build a fire, fish, and cook like nobody's business. (Play a pretty mean game of Cribbage too.) But like I said, I hate the part where I take the fish off the hook and string him up with his brethren... I know we're taking him back to camp for supper, and it's the circle of life... but the eyes... the eyes. :( It's an accusatory look, and rightly so - cuts me to the quick.

Have a similar issue with my cat, George Clooney. He's the cuddliest, cutest, most wonderful ball of soft fluffy goodness in the world, and I love him so much! But he brings sweet, innocent little birds and lizards into the house and proceeds to brutally murder them - often either in my bathtub or right next to the bed so I can watch and be impressed. :-x
