I guess the next noob question will be:

How does the fuse fit in there? Are we supposed to take the fuse apart?

Yep. You can take the fuse apart, or you can get extra fuses from me (pre-dissected). I'll be adding some helpful hints in the tech thread (which I'm starting the instant I've taken this first batch to the P.O.) You can just order extra fuses with your mod, if you're . . . . . IDK . . . in the Middle East, or something. (or, if you just want to)

... will tin foil work?;)

Your own safety is your own responsibility. Battery facials are not nice. I do not recommend the use of anything but the specific, exact recommended fuses. That said, my own particular safety is my own responsibility. I run my mod with a beryllium copper strip. I'm choosing to personally take that risk, given my knowledge of and experience with batteries. I do not recommend it.

Stupid question. Houses got rid of fuses and replaced them with circuit breakers. Why not something similar? Not just for your mod, but for all?

What size is your circuit breaker?

There are some resettable fuses. I considered using one that gdeal researched; but even that would have required space that doesn't exist in the mod's current size and configuration.

Ok I think I see. It's a size issue. Circuit breakers take up more space... I know they do in my house but I always assumed it was because it was multiple lines. Gotcha. Thanks pdib!

Ok.... I'm completely confused again (this is not an unusual state...).

I thought these were complete mech mods?

As for fuses... there's a kick/pcb/short protection inside somewhere? Where? Is there a volt/watt regulator too then? I've never seen a fuse in a pv of any type, and I've taken apart many of my mods already, so I don't know how it fits or where it would go. I thought the bottom of the Dibi was 2 bolts with a copper connector. I don't understand the fuse part...

These resettable fuses may fit. RGEF900 TE Connectivity / Raychem | Mouser

I have a couple on order for another project and will report back.....

Don't be confused. The fuse is just there for our protection in the (unlikely) event of battery failure, or hard short. Mechanical components may last for a very long time but they still can (and will) fail for one reason or another. The fuse provides that layer of protection that should one day the gremlins decide it's your turn, the overload in the circuit will cause the fuse to break (pop) and save you from a battery facial..:D
