Now you are set to have some spiffy knife handles made.
I'm currently alking to a guy that will custom make some stabilized wood in whatever size you want (and maybe double dye it depending on color combo), but it may be a few weeks to get it done. He's definitely not the cheapest, but might be a good option if you're wanting something specific.

(cough) i just discovered one of the MANY blocks
Kay, so . . .. on the ones with Richlite caps (the actual ones, not these fancy shmancy custom ones*), both the cap and base can be rinsed under the tap. All of that stuff is totally immersible. (dishwasher? . . .. .. . meh, pro'ly no). The bodies are made of various materials; but I think they are all just fine with damp/wet cloth type action. Those mods that are wood, and can use it are thoroughly saturation coated with a penetrating sealer called SeaFin (google it). Once that's cured out, I put on as many coats of CA as it takes to build a nice solid finish. (google it . . . cyanoacrylate). The interiors of the tubes have multiple coats (not as much as the outside) of CA too. The ends have CA and SeaFin, but not so much as to build a layer that changes the dimensions. If you're getting stabilized . . . . you're basically looking at something that's been vacuum and then pressure pickled with acrylic. A nice solid "A" type (closed cell) stabilization job is just about like a hunk of plastic with some vague memory of the forest. I coat those with CA until they all shiny and pretty.
Noalox . . . . .. not really. It doesn't hurt anything unless you put so much on that your metal ain't contacting well anymore. The button, tho .. . . So, for one thing, the button is super easy to disassemble and remove (just yer fingers is all you need). Under the top of the button is a spring that rests on the aluminum or copper plate. I apply Noalox to the button stem and the plate's surface before shipping them. Both aluminum and copper will oxidize and need an occasional buff/polish for good contact. I sneak a bit in there to give y'all a running start and delay your first cleaning.
Maybe, when you wash your topcap, unscrew the button and dry it under there, and see if it needs a polish every now and then.
* the fancy-schmancy custom ones can be cleaned with water too. I just don't think I'd recommend running hot tap water, and then just letting them air dry.
btw: I've done a bit of testing on the CA . .. . a brief visit from ol' Isopropyl Alcohol does no harm. A little visit from Lacquer Thinner . . . .. NOT SO GOOD!

Well... It's official... I'm the worst beta tester in history. I've had my pdib mod for close to a month now and I'm just now getting around to providing feedback. (I really do apologize pdib).
Also... The ECF just ate my homework. I just spent an hour writing out a detailed review of this remarkable piece of art and it disappeared when I hit the post button... and... I'm just not up for typing it all out again, so I'll hit the highlights...
Looks... Absolutely fantastic! The pictures .... great but they pail in comparison to the actual device. The burled wood that pdib used to make my "Dibby" is absolutely flawless, as is the finish.
Feel... Again, fantastic. The oval shape and the smooth finish feels like it was custom made to fit in my hand... It wasn't, but it sure as hell feels like it.
Craftsmanship... Top shelf. To say that I'm impressed is an understatement. Seriously, if you've had the ability to do work like this all along, what the hell took you so long to start making these?
Performance... So far, it's been outstanding. I've been sitting here with a Super-T P+ 18650 and the pdib, going back and forth... The pdib feels like it's hitting every bit as hard as the P+. In all fairness, the P+ has a much better atty than what I have on the pdib. I'm really stoked to see how good this is going to be with a top notch BF atty. I'm open to suggestions... Including ones that can be drilled out to be BF attys.
Summary... pdib, my friend, I think you've really hit a home run with this. I really do thank you for letting be one of the first owners and putting this in my hands. You know I've never had any real interest in box mods or bottom feeders, but you've really knocked my socks off.
