ha, I just ordered the most beautiful and expensive piece of stabilized curly hawaiian koa I could find, to be shipped straight to the master.

now 2 months ago I would have just laughed at you if you suggested that I'd be commissioning a custom made wood mod, any wood mod, let alone one that will wind up costing me more than any other mod I've ever bought... laughed at you I tell yah... yeah, all these pictures of such beautiful woods has just done it to me I guess.... :)

:offtopic: I understand that he filed papers to run again... What does the polling show? Does he have a chance?

A Toronto election is like an episode of Whose Line is it Anyway,
where everything's made up and the points don't matter.

Val keep up......this is the 3rd time I'm answering this for you. :p

I never said I didn't like the post sitting close together. I said initially I didn't like how weirdly spaced apart the post were on the RM2 but I quickly got used to it since I liked the vape & there wasn't anything I could do about it anyway.

I've never had a Cyclone so right now I have no opinion on it- but can't wait to have an opinion. *Looks at P'Dibby*

thanks for that sweetheart:oops::oops::oops: well if my recommendation counts for anything, I like the cyclone very much - so much so that I have 3 of them. One bottom feeder ,two drippers, and two AFC caps. I just love the double o-rings, the build quality, and the looks of course. Both caps (stock and AFC) fits very snug and does not leak. I've dropped my mod a few times and the cap does not come off. The AFC cap is a bit PITA until it's lubed with a bit of juice, then it's easier to turn. I've got the Fusion drip tips on order to complete the look for now ( until the DIBITIPS come out ). I might have to order a couple more cyclone BFs for my DIBIs.:vapor::vapor::vapor:

I would, but the funny thing is, right after I ordered it the site took the pic away because it wasn't available anymore I suppose. from what I've been told it has a shimmer in the grain in the sun that looks more like a gemstone than wood, it's a dark base, almost black really but with a bright reddish orangish grain. can't wait to see the magic peter does with my Oliver :D

this is the most similar looking piece I've found on his site but mine has a tighter grain and more black in it

Of course your recommendation counts! Got a question & couldn't tell from pics.... Is the Cyclone with AFC top fed? Or is it just a cap that I could use on the BF one?

Yeah, the RM2 airhole seems to shift. I don't know if the soft brass threads cause the "stopping point" to shift too readily, or what. I could never find an o-ring that happened to be the exact right size. What I took to doing is wrapping black sewing thread (black because it tastes better .. . . . . .. ) around the base of the threaded area. I'll have the cap mostly on, to help guide the thread into a slot. Then wrap 5-7 times around, check it, wrap a few more times. When it's good, I tie a half hitch, tighten the cap, and snip the ends off.

On one of my RM2s, it's the ceramic base that shifts.

I almost bought this piece. Was watching it. Is a beauty. Can you please send me a pic when it is done? I would love (maybe not) to see how it turned out. I am sure I am going to kick my self for not pulling the trigger on it!

Hey Dibby, you get anything in the mail today resembling this???

Yeah, the bidding went higher than I expected on this one, but I just had to have it. I'll definitely post pics, lots of pics....... I have a feeling it'll be my new avatar. :D

Hey glass gal! I was thinking about getting myself a small kiln/furnace to make some drip tips on my free time, but do I need a slumping or an annealing furnace?

Hi Medic, a kiln's a kiln. What matters is that the temp can go up to annealing temps, and that it can hold it there a period of time. Some people talk about ceramic kilns as different from glass kilns, but that's just the door placement (ceramics tend to be top open, glass are side open). What matters is the temps.

I've never heard of anyone fusing drip tips tho, those are all torch made, which has nothing to do with the kiln, except for annealing. All glass has to be annealed after being melted and push/pulled.

Slumping simply means you're going up to 1350 degrees F to melt/slump soft glass. Borosilicate doesn't slump well, it will devitrify, and the melting temp is 1750 F minimum. Hope that helps:).
