I wish I had your discipline! I have a collection of timepieces that I bought with the full intention of flipping them but never did. I just find it impossible not to get attached to something so beautiful.

Right, but the problem was I bought something I knew I would intentionally not care to use. I knew I didn't want something that flashy or busy, but someone would, and once they sold out, it was my market to control. Lol. So that's how I did it. I intended on splitting the Mirandus set as well, that isn't gonna happen either lol.

Couple of things....

First off, the "battery rattle". With my mod, I notice that there is a slight rattle of the battery at the top of the mod. It is not that bad, or even noticeable really. I know that I could solve it with a small piece of tape on the battery, but will not bother, as it has no effect on the operation of the mod nor me. I had a "gripper" that the 510 connection would wiggle back and forth tremendously. I know of some people that filled it up with silicon cause it wiggled so much. The slight rattle is not a problem, nor will it ever be. I know that in some flashlights, they put a piece of stiff cardboard in the tube to prevent that very thing as well. So, my recommendation on that is to not worry about it.

Secondly, the subject of replacing the magnets on the bottom with screws. Once again, I prefer it the way that it is. I find it much more convenient to swap the battery from the bottom of the mod. If I had to take out screws to do that, I would lose some convenience. I actually think that the magnets are much more cooler anyway. I like the fact that I can totally disassemble the mod without the use of tools. I did notice that there is much more throw to the fire button, but that took maybe 2 minutes to get used to. Again, it was not enough of an inconvienence for me to go through the effort of adding the spacers for the switch.

My vote for both ideas for improvement are to leave things as they are. I am exceedingly happy with the operation of my mod, and see no reason to improve it.

^^^this!

just replay the video in post #1. the magnets are freakin' cool. if you prefer screws over magnets after seeing that, you need a soul transplant...

I LOVE the magnets!

And I just got two 22 Amp 18650 Orbtronic SX22 Rechargeable Hybrid Li-ion batts today. They are a bit longer than my imr's and a gnat's whisker too round which makes for a tight fit which eliminates the wiggling battery issue as well as the thumb pressure issue. To get the battery out I have to take off the top and bottom and push real hard to get them out. SO loving the ability to pop off both ends to switch batteries!

I use a rat tail file to open air holes with. I have the file marked to where the correct diameter is (for me) and I just twist it till I reach the mark. Easy peasy, works like a charm.

sorry... I ment drilling it to make a squonk hole. .... as for the stainless steel airhole I just throw a stnd steel 1.5mm in the cordless on superslow speed... takes seconds to bite through.... 2 layers of sellotape to stop slippage.

hey pdib how did you grind the edge of the door on the circuit board doors to form the male part that slides into the female part of the reo... is a shame you don't make them anymore I need a bit of colour on this reo so I don't keep losing it... I wonder if after cutting the required size if that the edge could just be sanded/tapered I dunno lol

Despite my mail stalking failure during DIBICON 1, we have DIBI vape!

I tried taking photos yesterday, but it just wouldn't sit still long enough. It deserves a better photo, so I might get around to it later.

What a masterful piece of wood to behold. I can't seem to stop holding and squeezing it! What a joy it is not having to drip into the dripper atty! It is taking a little getting used to, but that's because this is my first BF mod. And because I've been using the bottom side-switch Electric Angel mech for so long, I often try vaping while squeezing the bottle rather than pushing the top button. I'm sure to have that muscle memory retrained in short order, though.

In all fairness to my mail carrier, the label did state "Signature Required." When I picked it up at the PO, the Postman said signature required and pointed to the electronic signature thingy. But no matter how many times he rescanned the bar code, there was just no place to sign for it. When I mentioned that pdib had paid for no sig required, he said, "They must have put the wrong label on it."

Sheesh. Remember when the USPS was the most reliable and efficient mail system in the world?

Now to catch up on the 10 pages I missed yesterday.

I had some battery rattle with my Sony VTC4s. Solved the up/down rattle with one of the o-rings supplied by pdib. Side rattle required a bit of tape. It is a snug fit and I like having the magnets on both ends so I can push the battery through. Mind you, I'm still on my first battery with it, so nothing is broken in, yet.

Virgin battery, virgin Cyclone, and virgin wood. Giving them all the love I can give.

[Edit] Next battery change, I'm trying that cut business card method. Methinks I'll like that much better.

Ps, also like Mundy I am amazed at how tough this mod is. As an all day user this goes every where with me and has taken some tumbles with absolutely no issues. Well one issue I did break the plastic drip tip on its first tumble.

Okay, okay. I'll take it out and about with me. But it will NOT go on any fishing trips! I already lost one mod off the tower (fortunately, it was just a VAMO). And I got drenched one night when we took a wave over the bow and into the cockpit. This mod will never touch the ocean.

Besides, who wants fish slime on their wood?

Is there a British, Canadian, or Australian camp near you? Whenever we were in port with a ship from one of those nation's navies, we always visited and swapped ship's lighters while enjoying tap beer - in their berthing spaces!

View attachment 317889 so what part of the table did you cut your piece of wood from Bimini I'm sure HRH hasn't looked under the doily good thing you didn't have matching caps made you would lose it on that table almost perfect match or is that some new chameleon wood.

LOL! Shhhhh!

It's a dark cherry wood coffee table and is darker than the mod, but the flash really brought out its grain. It still looks great there, though it tends to leap into my hand more than stand there.
