In all seriousness I have not had 1 bit of trouble with the silver contacts with out any Noalox, nor have I had to clean them or my batteries. No turning of the button every once and awhile. (course my button doesn't turn anyway with the bypass strap) If this keeps up long term I will have to fiddle with something else.

Still mulling over the center rod contact point at the top. I do occasionally have to re-seat the top or fiddle with the nylon screw a touch. I like the fuse link so I won't be doing the Tcad thing. (Although I must say, good job Tcad and that copper band looks good)

Also still need to re-CA the tube as I do get a small amount of leakage there but haven't had time so I just give it a pat down with a piece of paper towel when I refill.

Looks like you have it under control with the sterling silver and it looks simpler than what I did with the silver contacts. Are you still interested in the contacts? I have been so busy with work non stop I haven't sent them to you yet.

Personally, and this is just me whining . . . . . I can't believe y'all aren't a little more excited about solid silver contacts. I think it's the farking cat's meow. How many mods out there have a solid silver button contact, Ag/BeCu spring? Thing's purring like a kitten . . . . . . and my vape tastes like silver. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, yummy.

I am excited, sign me up for one of each.

Can confirm. After using 24g exclusively for months I tried some 25g and, wow, the heat up time drastically quicker. Seriously, it's drastic. Never tried nichrome though. I'm seeing that Nichrome 60 Wire contains 60% nickel and 24% iron whereas Nichrome 80 Wire contains 80% nickel and 0% iron. Is there noticeable difference in taste?

I may have a permanent case of vaper's tongue but I don't taste the difference in wire. I don't taste the wire at all. I run nichrome 80 because it has the lowest resistance. With the lower resistance I get more wraps per ohm. It also heats up quicker. More mass and more heat than kanthal at the same resistance. With my dual 12 wrap setup, I hit the button and by the time I bring it up to my mouth to vape, it's ready. And with my air slots almost wide open I get a nice warm healthy tasty lung hit. With a fresh battery, there's no wait.

LOL, this is my ADV, it's definitely not for everyone. I like a nice warm tasty vape with plenty of throat hit and that's what I get with this setup.

And I personally follow this with interest to see the latest innovation/retrofit offerings as they become available (Silver Rocks). I too like the idea of the thin band of copper on the bottom for balance... Great idea! Although I want the matching caps if my wood will support it and the fire button...
