My button was a little proud so I took a couple of threads off the back end.

It's a little less than a hair trigger now and hits like a train. I was pulling nice clouds at 3.7V before changing out the battery. I'm not fooling myself thinking there's a big difference between this and the brass screw I just took out but it really does feel like I don't have to press as hard to get the same results. The fact that it should still be hitting hard even when it starts to tarnish doesn't hurt either. Like pdib, I'm going to see how long it works good before I have to clean it.

I'm also reporting in on the new Samsung batteries - the Samsung INR18650-25R 2500 mAh I picked up from KP. I've been swapping 2 back and forth and even with my power hungry dual coil setup I'm consistently draining my 6ml juice bottle past the 1/2 way point. I don't have any scientific measurements to show off but I am noticing a nice healthy middle range hit. The same and maybe a little more hit than the LG's but they're definitely putting out a better vape all the way through the cycle and they're outlasting the LG's by at least 1ml on the bottle before change out. The Sony VTC5 hit hard out of the gate but the middle range is noticeably less than the Samsung and the LG's.

Like I said, nothing scientific, I'm just going by the vape. I'm definitely liking the new Samsung's better than the rest. They're fat in the middle. :)

Nice! I was just looking at that myself! I was thinking whether I should get the update to the Razer blade 14 or that one! The Razer is a bit pricy but it comes with an nvidia GTX765 and lasts 8 hours of regular use. I really wanted something smaller and lighter but man, the specs on that are just sweeeet. The only thing I don't like about it is windows 8.1 ..LOL

Just ordered myself the MSI GS60 Ghost (nerd pr0n) Gonna be nice!

Goodnight world.

Sweet Kev. I just picked me up a razer blackwidow ultimate to compliment my new i7 machine. Nothing like a solid mech keyboard :)

Video card (nvidia GT650 1gb) isn't top of the line (by a long shot) but it's a solid performer.

I don't even play games on my PC but I do on Xbox :). Waiting for a BF4 download to complete now.

Here's what's wierd - according to the WEI, my vid card sucks at desktop graphics but does ok at 3D and business graphics bringing down my whole score - ...?

But look at them calcs and mem scores :)

On the silver contacts. Given the amount of room we have in there, and the fact that the LP brass nut that comes with it is 3/32" thick; when setting up the silver contact, one should be shooting for it barely protruding from the brass nut. I'm torn between sending the biggest chunk of silver I can / that should fit in the post of the aluminum post VS cutting it shorter so that it will always fit for everyone without taking a little nip off the back end. I figure the longer the silver screw, the more years of use it will provide. Now and again, one of y'all might need nip, file, sand a tidbit off the backside on initial setup; but almost never I hope.

X-puppy sent me some batteries to try out; so I know what all is going on out there. I agree with his take completely.

Both the VTC5 and the LG last substantially longer than the Samsung 20R; but the belly of the curve for the VTC5 is a bit weaker than the Samsung. The LG is solid. Pro'ly the best for punch and longevity combined. Sounds like the new Samsung 25R that X-puppy's trying are on par with the LGs? I think it also comes down to what a person needs too, tho. I don't need a battery to last more than a full day, so I don't need to pay for that luxury. I'll be happy to ride out the 6 Samsung 20R I have for as long as they're serviceable.

When I saw this, I realized I hadn't seen a WIndows Experience Index score on my system in years. So I went looking for it, and discovered that if you have Windows 8.1, they took the GUI for it out completely!! Here's how you can do it if you have Windows 8.1 :
http://www.cnet.com/how-to/find-your-windows-experience-index-scores-in-windows-8-1/

That said... you need a new graphics card, it isn't just gaming, it's how fast photos/movies load. My i7 desktop is now ancient in computer years (2010), and still pulls a 5.9 Index score. It's a 7.3 across the board, the reason it's 5.9 is because I have a normal TB hard drive, not a teeny SSI, and I upgrade my video card every year or 2.

Today, 4.7 index is not sufficient, and it's your graphics card (which you can replace for $100-$200). Course my tablets are faster and my Surface Pro is instant, but I still like my clunky old desktop (with huge dual monitors) best... but the key is the graphics card:)!
