old growth redwood from burlsource. Knowing what I know now, I would choose differently. It looks incredible but it is a crumbly wood. There are some spots on the insides that crumbled during the process. pdib did his wizardly magic and got it through though.Who knows how strong it really is and I'll have to be careful with it.
A lot of these burly curly blocks I see posted up sure look pretty, but I am curious how well they will hold up over time. Highly doubt mine would survive a fall but I could very well be wrong. Plan is not find outMy next one I want richlite tops/bottoms and something really strong/durable. Run 12 is far enough out that we all should know what takes the most abuse. I have a block of that bog oak so I'm super curious how xobelot's does.
Yeah, it's too bad about the redwood. I've liked everything redwood I've come across so far. I got a stabilized dyed something for round four. Gettin' 'cited already!
