MoN, what do you mean "no 6ml bottle"?

you sent it without one. where'd it go? What's wrong with your 27.5 REO bottles?

I'm a fool peter lol. When I was swapping wood and metal reos like three card monte I must have lost track of thre queen and sent my Dibi bottle with a Reo. All I have are my 18490 bottles, and a few vapage 9 ml ones... Looks like I'm gonna be drilling a vapage cap real soon lol

She's gorgeous peter she really is...
Wish I still had a 6 ml bottle to put on her :(

I'm gonna go cry in a corner now...

Dripping though, she hits like a truck. Love the new contact, and the packaging gave it a very boutique feel, which for something as special as an OliveR makes a lot of sense.

Shoot I'd mail one but sounds like PO man would hold it hostage.

Lmao!

Ahem. So until I can drill a vapage cap, I had this really awful idea... I've been doing the bottle mod, so even though I have no bottles... I do have caps. And o rings. And 3 ml bottles. So... :sob: here's my first awful modification.
My 3 ml Dibi

I see Mark has a couple of bog wood in stock. Pdib, how does this wood going to hold-up in your opinion? Does it seem overly fragile or does the stabilization process make it very durable?

Thanks!

hey ernest. I think the stabilized bog will hold up well in terms of expansion/contraction and humidity type shizzle-floozle. It's not going to be the most resilient option for the turbo-classic drop-kick tho. (reasonably strong? . . .. . . . .. . yes.) I squeaked some caps out for XObox; but I'm not recommending that for general consumption (i think xobe is a corporal or something). If you're in love with the stuff, I'm thinking it's a reasonable gamble with richlite caps. (see pics w/ "slate" color richlite)

btw: did y'all hear about something going on in the Ukraine? Well, that's where the bog is (literally . . . . geographically, more like). Mark says this might be the last batch for . .. .. . ?

Meh I was hoping they'd be available longer...

I already have a wood deal with VH so if I do get this, I'll have to sign-up for another run. I'm on run 11 am I? And 14 runs currently?

My wallet is sooooo going to hate me....

I've read that 'modders mod' description... but now that I have one, I have to say, that's just wrong.

This is the least modable mod made... because it's already as streamlined as it's going to get, with minimal improvement possible or necessary. What are you going to mod on it? Why would you pay the highest price for a wood mod on the market today, so you can 'mod' the design?

The modders mod is a Bogger box, that's got so much wrong with it that ANYTHING you do to it will be an improvement:). You can mod the heck out of that, because it's got room to mod. There's no room to mod much here... what are you going to change:)?

I think it's labeled a modders mod because of the way it's built. it's threaded with commonly available hardware and everything is easy to access and change and service and tweak to your hearts content. it's a basic straight forward simple efficient design with everything it needs and nothing it don't, and you can solve just about any problem you may have with basic tools and a trip to lowes or home depot

Now that might be interesting:). But why do it?

as far as the dna, personally I love a good regulated mod over a mech mod. there are a lot of reasons but the main one is consistency an usable battery life for me and the way I vape.

with a dna I can vape at a steady 4.6 volts even when my battery is really all the way down to even 3.5v, and it still vapes just as well as it did when I started and the battery was at 4.11 volts. exactly the same actually. in a mech I would have had to change the battery long ago. I honestly get almost double the ideal usable battery time.

with a mech the vape starts out really at its peak fresh off the charger and gives a great vape, it then drops down to a slightly less than peak vape as the voltage starts to go down but it holds well enough at close to peak for a while, but then it starts to get to be less and less and less until you just think ahh this sucks and you need a battery swap. the regulated mod just puts out a vape at peak, and continues to put out peak vape for almost a whole day. the battery gauge winds up going all the way down to empty and it still puts out same vape up to that point. I've tried hard to live with a mech over a dna and I've tried many different batteries from 35 amp continuous outputs up to 10 amp 2,900 mah's and the results are always the same, I get at a minimum 30% more run time on a day to day basis with a dna.

second major difference for me personally is, with a dna I can build a simple single coil that doesn't need to be deep sub ohm, I can get 13 wraps in a single 26ga coil that comes in around 1 ohm or higher and get a great vape by turning up the voltage. to get an equal vape for me personally, the only way I can get my mech to really touch that vape quality is with dual coils. I've tried really hard to build a great vape from my chalice on my dibi but I can't get it to perform nearly as well as I can get a cyclone with duals to perform on it. don't get me wrong the dibi rocks hard with the cyclone for sure, but so does that 13 wrap side mounted in the chalice on the dna, and 30% longer usable run time.

we all know how awesome the dibi is. I originally ordered it with every intention of installing a dna, I even got an over sized block and peter rough shaped the remaining chunk as an extension to the base specifically for this reason, but once I had it and used it and even modded it, now I really like it as is. it's a great mod, but, and I hope no one would get mad at me for being honest here, my dna woodville is actually my #1 go to all day every day mod at the moment. it is an amazing vaping machine and I have no fear leaving the house with only it and no back ups. I've really tried to use the dibi as my #1 but the vape consistency from fresh to dead battery just holds it back as #2 for me.

#2 is really not a bad place considering how truly bad ... my #1 is. to me my #1 is like the baddest mod out there, so bad it don't even really exist except for mine. guys are running around spending 4 and $500+ for hana boxes and zna's just because of how awesome the dna really is, but they don't even squonk  the dna powered bottom feeder is a match made for each other, until you've owned and used dna's for a while it's hard to really get how awesome it is in day to day use.

this is just a bad ... mod

now coming in a close second to that is still a sick mod as is, it's like having a Lamborghini and a Ferrari, sure one can be a favorite but that don't change the fact that there both awesome machines...

honestly now I'm a little torn as to what to do with my dibi. I really love it as is and almost feel like it would be a waste to re engineer and rebuilt it over to a regulated mod. I mean the woodville was different, the electrical guts of the woodville stock was pathetic, it really needed upgrading anyway so the dna was natural for me, but the dibi is so good as is that it's really not crying for the upgrade, but then I think with the dna it just might knock the reo out of the #1 spot and become the best mod ever . honestly I think the best decision is to just leave it as a Ferrari as it was meant to be. I think I can love my Ferrari even if my Lamborghini is my favorite, no harm in that really... now I just need another Ferrari though

Turbo, you are fortunate to be ABLE to mod like that... so if you ask me, I'd say go for it. Nothing's as sad as wasted talent:p. You spent the first paragraph explaining how the Dibi is REALLY a modder's mod after all. Then used my argument that you can't improve on it because it was so nice. Yah? Really? LOL!

Just do it:). Besides, what makes the Dibi so amazing is the wood part, right? You aren't touching that, you're doing the bottom. You can put it back if you don't like it, right:)?

Your woodvil looks sick!!! How did you get the metal cover for it like that??

Well, somebody oughta go out to his shop and do some experimenting . . . .. ..

. . . .. . anyone?

Well, that was just an example... I don't see any for sale now, but a couple of months ago, there were some corncob blocks. Then I saw the knife handles they made. OMFG.

Here's one I found:

Here's a corncob pocketknife:

Here's a corn cob stabilized sold block I found, the corn cob pattern is solid:
Stabilized Corn COB Knife Scales Blanks 3 | eBay

Imagine a mod that looks like fish scales... omfg...

Tell me you wouldn't have years of backlogged orders for a mod that looked like that...

and of course... I'm sure some vapers today owned a corncob pipe... one of THE historical pipe types:

Corncob mod as father's day gifts:)?

You need an assistant. You should go to the local college and get you a free art student intern or 3, make 100 mods a month, drop the price to $200 again, and get rich.

Oh yah, I'll take a free corn cob mod for the intellectual rights:). (kidding of course:))

if I do the dibi conversion there would be no going back. in a way it would ad bloat, the dibi is awesome because it don't have any bloat, so in a way, and as much as it would make it awesome in some ways, it would also be taking away the svelt sleek minimalist that makes a dibi a dibi. not sure if it's worth the tradeoff tbh

that plate started out as a solid chunk of brass that I machined down to the size and shape I needed it to be.
