I just saw that Rossum got his silver post going too. I just received the upgrade for my #00? (pdib - I forgot to ask what my number is, but its #1 for me regardless of production sequence..:) ). I thought I was a bit late to the upgrade offering so I didnt know if posting results would be yesterdays news or not. Anyway, I may have gotten lucky, since I dont read instructions either, but first vape was a nice surprise! So while my aluminum contact was due for a cleaning, it was very noticeable that the connection felt much, much more solid and harder hitting. More so than I expected.

I know, I need to clean my original button and do a better comparative test.... I also didnt do an "official" DMM read for vdrop, but honestly, I dont ever remember having that same effect/feel with the aluminum. I think the flatter shape adds a bit as well on top of the more conductive material. Maybe its because the button sits a bit higher, the throw is a bit shorter or maybe its that new toy effect. IDK, but it works really well, so I am not even gonna question it.

(well that probably a fib, I know I going to do vdrop tests when I get some more time) Thanks pdib.

Are you fabricating them yourself and are they for sale? Are they fragile in shipping or do you have to wrap them in bubble wrap?

Second night in FL. OliveR on night stand as usual. Woke up this morning, picked her up to vape and DNF again. Tried several times; no joy. Put her down, unplugged DNA mod from charger, vaped that, spent some quality time in the bathroom, came back, tried again. She fired, but a bit reluctantly at first, then better and better, and she's been working fine now. I deliberately didn't haven't pulled either of the caps off so as not to disturb anything.

I'm puzzled. Whatever is causing this isn't the firing button; that got cleaned and upgraded yesterday, so it's gotta be one of the other contacts. The question is, which one?

Yes, I have air conditioning, so the humidity isn't outrageous. But I am this close to the ocean and everything made of metal corrodes like mad here due to the salt in the air. Of course that's much worse outside than inside, but even inside, brass and copper develop patina much faster here than anywhere else I've ever been....

I had no firing issues with my reo here in the VA mountains. 3rd day at the beach my firing pin was a corroded wreck. Had to clean and slap more noalox on it.
